35 dollars for a useless thing is still 35 dollars better invested elsewhere, where it actually counts.
I could buy 3 of these for that price, but bought only one and plan to invest the remainder on the Musk IPO!

An interesting proposal: the Aurender NH10 purpose-built audio networking switch. Just 4.300$.

At least the first comments call it out for what it is.

To understand the necessity of an audiophile-grade network switch, you need to understand how digital audio data actually moves across your network. Standard internet service providers design networks for generic access. A commodity ISP router is perfectly fine with losing a data packet, requesting it again, and receiving it a fraction of a second later. When you're loading an email or watching a buffered Netflix show, you never notice the difference.

But high-resolution is a different animal entirely. It's real-time, continuous data, and it can't afford any delays. If a data packet gets dropped off or arrives out of order due to variations in latency–known as jitter–your audio quality suffers immediately. Standard routers lack the hardware to prioritize your delicate audio streams and offer zero protection against network congestion or electrical noise bleeding onto your Ethernet cables.
This is pure lies and deceit :facepalm:

Any audio you stream isn't real-time at all, high-def or not. In the first 10 or so seconds of playing, most of the song will already be downloaded. And if you play the song often, it is probably just loaded from disk cache. And obviously, there is very generous buffering before any song starts as well. All of this is pure nonsense.

What bullshit they tell. Data is data regardless whether the content is picture, video, audio or other data. Of course the internet was not created for audio transmission as a first goal. Since computers exist the main thing is to have a buffer for incoming data and a systematic proper release for further processing. So, if audio is flawed then this is due to a misconception of the receiving equipment.

But the audio isnt flawed. It is just audiophool idiocy and conmen trying to sell over priced nonsense

My own experience from "years of evaluating (and pitching) high end gear", a good story presented with conviction.... "standard routers do not give a damn about preserving timing integrity or emotional space" goes far keeping this crap out the door. What you believe, you will hear.

You probably know - but this is not a typo - . replaces , as 1000's separator in large parts of mainland Europe.

But, but, but the audiophiles have actual measurements to prove that everythig in networking matters for audio, even Ethernet cables:


With high-tech measuring equipment!
With probes directly to a clock chip!
And there are real differences in the measurements, e.g. single-digit picosecond differences in jitter!
And they have confirmed that these measured differences are audible using sighted tests, so all of this is Gold Standard Science - which is better than mere "Audio Science".
Take that ASR - what do you say now?
