the c100 adds bluetooth and a remote over the su1 .
the su1 gets LOTS of great comments for it's price .
my question is does the output quality from the usb-c/coax/optical of the c100 match the same output quality from the same inputs on the su1 ?
the c100 is $90ish on amazon with a coupon right now and the su1 is $80 .
any reason to pick the su1 over the c100 other than saving 10 bucks ?
wanted to add , mostly interested in the additional remote functions and not so much the very basic BT function .
i think i've decided on the magny unity for my HP amp .

Having owned both, I firmly favour the C100 over the SU-1. Here are my reasons (in no particular order):
  • the included remote enhances usability
  • so does the volume control
  • the additional input — Bluetooth — makes the C100 more versatile
  • the C100's screen is informative (and it can be turned off)
  • the C100 has 6 selectable filters
  • the C100's popping noises over USB, also present in the SU-1, was solved in the C100 through a firmware update (no known workaround for the SU-1 with Mac or Linux)
  • the C100 is firmware upgradeable (not sure if SU-1 is)
  • Aoshida's tech support is good and responsive in my experience.
Hope that's of some use.

thanks folks . definitely going with the C100 .

schiit , i'm a wishy washy bass turd .
i'm now considering the smsl ao300 because i also have a old school velodyne CT120 with a pair of simple jbl arena 120 on my desk in our bedroom . we have a 65 inch tv in there with hdmi arc . the sub out and high pass for the speaker outputs seems to be a decent all in one option for me . i just started reading the long thread here on it ......

Hi Alexanderino,
thank you very much for sharing your valuable personal hands-on observations. I have been looking exactly for these informations for months. It really helped, also by validating some of my own assumptions. Ordering C100 :)
Thank you and regards, Marko
