I would go m300 mk2 simply because it's newer. SU-8 will soon be upgraded to SU-9 if you can wait... :)

Both should be fine.

Where did you hear about SU-9? I have an SU-8 and it's great but I wish i could change the font.

I received my dac smsl m300 mk2 and my first impressions are good but I will not give final judgment before giving it a 48 hour of burn-in. I connect it with sp200 using the rca output. what are the advantages of using cable xlr balance between the smsl m300 and sp200 knowing that I currently use the unbalanced output for my akg k712?
thank you for your answers

Should have more power or a higher input gain and then theoretically a cleaner signal being balanced but generally I just like the extra gain for hard to drive headphones. I you ever feel like trading for an SU-8 or SDAC-B let me know as I have a thing for AKM's.

thank you for your answer, I think it is impossible to do trading, because I am very far from you, I am in Morocco (Africa).

Using XLR interconnects between the amp and DAC may improve SINAD by a few dB due to common-mode noise rejection. The SP200's XLR headphone output is identical to the 6.3 mm TRS output in terms of power. The only difference is that XLR offers lower contact resistance (slightly lower output impedance). Using RCA is absolutely fine.
