ok my Win10 laptop died. Borrowing a win7 machine. How do I get a compatible USB driver? XMOS linked at SMSL site is Win10 and above

It should be a "class compliant" USB2 device, so it should work "driverless", but will be limited to basic functionality, no "Hires audio" etc.
There is backward compatibility in Windows, but no forward compatibility.

Only on Win8 and above. Win7 lacks generic UAC drivers.

Have you tried the "Driver for win7" available here?

After installation, double check in the device manager that the correct driver is in use.

no worky....I give up.

Finally getting back up and sort of running. Had to buy and install a new copy of Win 10. Dell would not help me unless I paid them $199. Got new copy for $60. Anyway enough of my rant. So when I stream a 24 bit 96k or 192k file to this DAC does it change where the output filter is? If not what's the point? I have a lot to learn....

Hello!

Were you able to get the transformer? I´m facing the same problem and are having a terrible time finding it.

I´ve emailed Noratel UK but they simply ignored it.
How did you happen to take out the transformers? I do not want to do the same.

A power surge took care of the fuse and one of the transformers.
The fuse was easy to find, but the transformer had to be built under specification. I could not find one anywhere with a size that could fit in the cabinet.

Hi everyone.

My SU-10 is skipping, and I feel it has developed over time.

Can someone guide me to what this might be, perhaps a filter or DSD setting? I feed it via a Wiim mini over Airplay (yes I know).

Thank you

Which manual? The SU-10 or the Wiim?

Thanks @staticV3 . I see it now. Don't really understand what it does but I see it:)

Found on web in brief search:
DPLL is just for optical SPDIF inputs, it adjusts the timing. If you use optical, start at 5 and adjust low as you can before you hear playback problems like skipping. USB and coax aren't affected by the setting (or bluetooth).

is this true, only optical SPDIF?

Watched Amir's overview video about jitter..."I can't hear it"...until my DAC starts skipping:)

ok I think I get that. After all the datastream is the same just different transport electrical or optical. But is that only "type" input that the DPLL has effect on? Not USB or AES or great Caesar forbid the I2S?

Found this to help, along with sample rate switch latency on the Wiim which I had set to 0. Running at 2k now.

The issue has developed over time, I just hope it's not a sign of a tiring DAC.
