SMSL PO100 issues Amazon Music

Hi there,

This is my first time posting here.

I'm currently using an iPad connected to an SMSL PO100 DAC, which then connects to my AVR via an optical cable. I've successfully streamed content from Spotify and Audible without any issues.

However, I'm encountering a problem with Amazon Music: it plays, but I get no sound. The SMSL PO100 is listed under the Airplay option within Amazon Music app, and I'm unsure if this is related to the issue.

Notably, the SMSL PO100 works perfectly with my Mac and Amazon Music when I set the SMSL to 24-bit/96kHz or under via Audio MIDI Setup, which is the optical cable's limitation.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this so I can get Amazon Music to work with my iPad and the SMSL PO100?

Thank you!
Jam

Have you tried turning up the volume on the iPad?

I have limited experience with DDCs, but that may be the problem.

Hi there - I believe the volume is controlled by the AVR as it works with the other streaming apps I have.

Yeah, it looks like the volume slider is “fixed” on my iPhone. I had tried a Douk DDC and had to crank the iPhone volume to 100% on that one.

Good luck.

Last night I downloaded Tidal and tried that. Tidal and Amazon Music do not work but everything else like Spotify and Audible do work... what could I be doing wrong?

Try this 96 kHz sample FLAC file and see if you can hear the sound?

On iOS sample rate changes by the playback app, so if your audio on Tidal or Amazon Music is above 96kHz, that is a possible issue.
You can try setting Tidal or Amazon Music to play at CD quality/lossless instead of Hi-Res to see if you can hear the music then.
