I have contacted the seller ( it was not SMSL official website...a third party site) and reported the issue . They asked me to send pics which i did and since then i did not get any reply from them....

Good luck with it. There are sharks out there.

Amazon’s great advantage is easy reversibility.

I’m sorry it was a bad unit! There is a pretty nice new player coming from Fosi next month, the Merak. Similar price point (I think) to the SMSLs but a top loader. You may want to check that one out.

I've seen the pictures of it and the display is tiny. Also Fosinare really bad for using different styling and colours for different products in their range.

Display is small but very crisp, which is fine, even for my tired old eyes. I do hope it appears in black as well as silver. I prefer the top-loading style to the "grabber" type (for home use).
