Having a hard time picking my next power amp, pa400 or vibelink, those who have both, wich sounds the best ? i know pa400 have allot more raw power, but is it necessarily? My speaker is Dali mentor 6.

The PA400 sits in Hypex price territory.

What is your source? Can you do with a pure power amp? Then maybe consider one of the many NCx252MP powered options as well.

(also available in XLR version)

Both have confirmed to be using last year's updated and slightly improved NCx252MP board (coming from NC252MP)

they will sound likely the same. We haven't seen any measurements of PA400 but unless it's borderline broken (e.g. very high distortions) you will not hear it.
What amp do you have and why do you want to upgrade?
If you have to choose between the two, my vote to to Vibelink, measured great, reasonable price, and the warranty should be covered by retailers (not many retailers carry PA400 however)

As others mention, both amps sound the same (as will any other decent amp). As for power, you don't need the 250W of the SMSL for your speakers, and in reality the difference between 180W and 250W isn't that large either.

One other major difference between the amps is that the SMSL has XLR input. If you need that, then the Vibelink isn't the amp for you.

500W is in mono (bridged?) mode, it's more like 200Wx2 in 8Ohm (specs)
A similar product https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/smsl-pa-x-stereo-amplifier-review.62396/ did not measure very well (it was good but less than Vibelink), and the most important it was broken for 40Hz power load. really raised a question regarding reliability

The (single) XLR input can only be used if you set it up as a monoblock

It has two XLR inputs (L & R). The L input is the only one used in mono mode.

My bad, I was looking at a PA200 apparently
