Thank you for the information. Very interesting.
Does the device allow using RCA and XLR simultaneously ?
Or does it have an sub out option ?
Thanks in advance, DT

You can output both RCA and XLR at the same time
but there is no sub out, the power amp have the sub out

Thank you @SMSL-Mandy ,
Very gentle to get these informations confirmed. Unless tests show it differently, the device seems to be a nice option for non-roon users with a preference of local streaming sources.

Could you inform me/us as well, which BT codecs (LDAC, APPX LL etc) are used for incoming / outgoing signal transmission and how many BT connections are possible simultaneously?
I lurked at Head-Fi and noticed your comment on Apple Music ("Apple Music can be entered via usb"), which may indicate that all standard streaming services (Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz, Apple, Tidal, IHeart etc) could be used via otg usb - if they support signal transmission through usb output?
As this seems to be a clever workaround (for some), I may conclude that there is no native support for streaming services implemented?
Again, thanks in advance, DT

So if i use an active subwoofer with crossover i can connect it to the RCA outs and the speakers to the XLRs?

Which power Amp would that be?
I am waiting for the day that SMSL merges both HDMI/ARC and LAN connectivity in one-box DAC solution.

Don't get me wrong, @SMSL-Mandy;
I own both the DP5SE as well as the DO100Pro to achieve both these connections at the current time, which really is a shame and a waste!:(

I cannot make the AES/EUB digital output of my DP5SE work. Anyone can help or comment?

I have just purchased DPS SE streamer mainly for the AES/EUB ouptut to be connected to a pair of my Genelec 8341 speakers. I simply connect the AES output for the DP5SE to the AES input of the speaker using an XLR cable.

However, I do not get any sound? I checked the manual to see if I need to somehow select the AES as output. I can see that I can only select headphone output, which I tested and it works just fine or line out that I have already selected. DId I miss something?

I'd appreciate any inputs from you guys on this. Thanks!

Do you use GLM? @Jrider
Run a measurement/correction with the digital inputs connected. Then see if it works.
I found if you run GLM with only analogue inputs connected, subsequent digital connection didnt work.
Weird as GLM runs via ethernet only!

Yes my set up includes a pair of 8341b speakers and their GLM adaptor. I am actually new to Genelec and GLM. So far I have downloaded GLM 5.1 and did the initial setup including assigning a group followed by a correction/calibration. My speaker group shows as "Calibrated" now. I heard the test tones during the calibration, with digital connections, computer >(usb)> SMSL streamer >(xlr)> left 8341 >(xlr) > right 8341 and also the Ethernet connections with GLM adapter and two speakers daisy chained.

So again, test tone works during calibration but there is no sound from speakers when I play music on computer, with the digital and Ethernet connections. The headphone output from SMSL works. But when I select the output to to lineout, the headphone output is cut but nothing from speakers.

I could have missed something very basic, either some settings on SMSL streamer or on Genelec GLM. It has been frustrating. :(

Yeah, maybe have to set AES/EBU output in an smsl menu?

I think that's the reason but I have not figured out a solution yet.

As I mentioned above I only see "HEADPHONE" and "LINEOUT" when selecting outputs for SP5 SE. If I actually connect the analog, "line out"/coaxial outputs of the streamer to the analog inputs of the Genelec using coaxial to XLR cable, the speaker works fine. But I bought the unit for its AES/EBU digital outputs capability.

@SMSL-Mandy : could you help? How to switch the output to digital AES/EBU? I am talking about the "Output Mode" selection in below interface. I only see headphone and lineout. How do I select other formats?
