A few years ago there was a some talk of disassembling one of these to try adding a heatsink to the ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip, but no one seemed to know how to remove the front (I couldn't find a post about it at least).
Turns out the front glass panel has two extra hex head screws under it. With a hair-dryer and suction cup I was able to remove it. Was pretty straightforward to open up and then reassemble after that.
