Used DBX 3 way electronic X over since 2001, various pre and power amps, two years ago Behringer x over, clearer sound, I guess better operational amps, now 3 Behringer A800 power amps, and a Crown xls 1002 for subwoofer. DIY loudspeakers made in 2001, still very good. Never been rich, this cheapo stuff, does amazingly good, 2 Seas alu 8 inch woofers in a super massed enclosure, braced, cement ballasted chambers, mid highs module, seas mid, now a compression horned celestion tweeters, big treated room so I have to project sound.

With the latest XMOS drivers from SMSL (5.70) 'Options' tab is visible and 'Always On' is selected by default, so no need to change anything.

Thanks for that update. I was running 5.58 since February 2024 and didn't know that SMSL had fixed that in the interim.

I had trouble operating my Crown XLS power amp, feeding in mono the 18 incher sub woofer, I did not have XLR out for it, from the DAC SMSL DO 100-I RESOLVED directly connected to electronic x over, taking the signal out XLR, and taking the signal RCA out --via a doubled--unified RCA to RCA input of Crown XLS, it works APPARENTLY---is the signal present on both RCA out (2 volts) and XLR out (4 volts)-IS IT CORRECT???

Yes, the DO100 will output from RCA and XLR simultaneously, with XLR always having double the output voltage.

Also, try using periods and paragraphs instead of dashes, all caps, and spammed question marks, to make your posts easier to understand and more pleasant to answer :)

Excuse me, I am 72 and with poor eye sight, cataract operated, hearing is still very good though.

I purchased an smsl do 100 pro and am waiting for a package from China.I'm interested in how it will fit the zidoo 9x pro and won't it conflict?

Topping should do the same

I’ve owned my DO100 for going on two years. Is there any audible improvement with the DO 100 Pro.? I don’t ever use MQA and have no use for HDMI ARC.

Hello, which settings should I use? Will there be much difference?
SMSL Settings / FL ? / DP ?
My Setup
TCL TV 55C735 +Optical +Dac Smsl DO100 - Xlr JBL p308mk2

FL - Output Digital Filter. This forum has many links and posts of choosing this filter. Standart and my value - FL6
DP - DPLL. Digital Phase-locked loop
From manual:
Effect:
When the clock stability of the input signal is good, this value can be reduced, so that the clock performance of the system is better;

When the clock stability of the input signal is not good, the sound may be interrupted. Increasing this value can avoid the occurrence of audio interruption! Especially when using TV as the signal source.

The best value is the lowest value which no problem with sound. My value - 1.

And with the DO200 Pro?

I am very happy with the DL100. The DO400 offers i2s hdmi. I connected the DL100 to the TV with Hdmi Arc and I can use all things which are connected to the TV with Hdmi. This is not possible with I2S Hdmi?

I hope they release a higher end model in future. Actually there is only the DL100 or Fiio KA19.

Thx. And do you think it is an disadvantage to use the optical connection in a TV scenario? If not the DO400 would be an upgrade. But I think Hdmi Arc is better.

The only way in which HDMI ARC may be better is that it can enable volume control via the TV remote and automatic turn on/turn off with the TV, as long as the DAC manufacturer has enabled these features in firmware and your TV supports HDMI-CEC.

If you do not want or need these features and you're fine with controlling power and volume using the DAC's own remote control, then I would personally prefer using Optical, as this isolates the TV and DAC electrically and inhibits noise and EMI.

My SMSL DO100 stops working randomly. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again. I use it with macOS. It still shows up as an audio device in macOS and audio continues to play (i.e. playback continues), but I don't hear anything.

I first noticed this about 3 months ago. Has anybody else run into this?
