SMSL DL200 the best ever value DAC/AMP?

The output of XLR and RCA is simultaneous. However, you cannot simply connect the symmetrical XLR signal to the RCA input on your subwoofer.
Thanks for the reply.
I was reading this thread - https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...unbalanced-rca-conflicting-information.35859/ - and considering that the AMP I'm going to use for powering subwoofer accepts up to 6V on RCA, I thought it's possible to connect TRS output of the DAC to RCA input of the AMP?
And any thoughts about the crossover?

Anyone knows the factory reset procedure for the DL200?

Since it doesn't have a power-off-on button at the back, I tried to unplug the power, hold the front knob in, and then plugging it back into power. The volume is still the same, and I am not sure if it reset some other settings or not.

I have noticed that once an album finishes playing on Spotify, my DL200 stops responding. I have to switch my Windows audio output to the monitor (or whatever) and then back to the DL200 to get it to start working again.

Is this a known thing? Is there a fix?
Still having this small issue. Anybody else? This isn't a problem with Apple Music or any other apps, AFAIK.

I don't know if this is of any help:
It happened to me a couple of times until I learned what was causing the reset.

In one of my setups I am using a switchable power strip.
If I turn the power strip on and immediately press the encoder to turn on the DL200 , the settings are reset to defaults, also volume settings. I have to wait a few seconds before I press the encoder to prevent the reset.

I noticed the changed settings because I usually use the auto-display-off feature and suddenly the display stayed on.

Just change a setting, for example select filter FL7 and try my procedure or your procedure by holding the encoder and turn the DL200 on. The filter FL2 should be the default.

Another procedure might work to initiate a factory reset:
Turn the DL200 on by pressing the encoder.
Disconnect the power cord.
Hold the encoder and connect the power cord again.

If the DL200 was on when disconnected from power it automatically turns on as soon as it gets power again. By holding the encoder it might initiate a factory reset.

Please let us know what works.

Thank you for the response, unfortunately I've already went through all the settings and set them up the way I want so I no longer need to factory reset for now. But hopefully this information can help someone else in the future.

I seem to be having an issue myself. When i press power off and i turn back on the usb mode always goes to usb 1.1 for some reason and i have to go and fix it myself to get the correct bitrate etc. Did anyone come across this problem? Also something that was not happening the previous days is that after some seconds the lcd goes blank. I have to stop the sound and then get something else playing and it displays the bitrate for 1-2 seconds and goes blank again. weird stuff

I hadn't installed the driver! Thank you, I think that fixed it.

EDIT: actually, no, it didn't lol.
I realised that I can get the Topping DX3 Pro+ locally for $130 new. Given its much smaller size (and cheaper price), would it be worth switching? The DL200 does have some quirks...

It depends. The SMSL DL200 sounds better for my Hifiman Series XS and Kali IN-5. The Topping had ground loop for speakers, which was the main reason for the upgrade. I wasn't expected the DL200 to sound slightly better with more headphone amp power.

If it powers your headphones with some headroom. The Topping DX3 Pro+ is great. I had less issues with the DX3 Pro+. Every now and then Windows doesn't recognize the SMSL DL200. I have to shut it off (use the remote) and let it be off for 5 seconds before turning it back on. Then the computer recognizes it again. It's an annoyance I never had with the DX3 Pro+; however, for me the benefit out ways the con. Hopefully we get an update that fixes the issue.

On the second part, the DX3 Pro+ seems to run hotter as it sort of doesn't turn itself off the same way DL200 does, likely this leads to why it's not recognized.

On my C200 if I turn on optical it doesn't still seem to run the USB input at the same time. Topping seems to keep most if not everything active.

I have no idea about the usb 1.1 problem. It should keep the last setting.

But regarding the display: If you press the FN button on the remote for a few seconds you can turn ON/OFF the auto-display-off feature.

Yeah the SMSL has some quirks. In my case:

Installing the XMOS drivers and stuff didn't fix or change the problem at all.

I thought the Topping had slightly more headphone power? Not that headphone volume is really an issue with the DL200 (headphones are ZMF Auteur Classics).
