SMSL DL200 the best ever value DAC/AMP?

When I disconnected the DL200, only the USB cable was connected to the ADI-2 PRO, nothing else and of course power.
I could check this with my workstation.
Today I just used a MiniPC, which is normally used for SW testing.

I will have to find the time.

I see. For me, you have done enough to show the behaviour of the filters of the DL200.

You can run the ADI-2 Pro off a power bank. Just make sure you have the right voltage. This is from the manual.

You can also contact RME support if you think the PSU is the source of the spike.

Lieben Dank! At first I have to test this with my workstation (and maye another PC).
I have a second ADI-2 PRO and would be able to cross check this.

Today windows acted like the SMSL DL200 wasn't installed. I had no indication on the unit things were not working. Of course unplugging the unit and plugging it back in fixed the issue. I hope this is just a one off.

I have noticed that once an album finishes playing on Spotify, my DL200 stops responding. I have to switch my Windows audio output to the monitor (or whatever) and then back to the DL200 to get it to start working again.

Is this a known thing? Is there a fix?

Can I use this as a preamp? Control the volume of the lineout of the dac?

Another question since im waiting on ups to deliver... What driver u guys using? Or is it not needed and windows just recognizes it as a USB audio device?

afaik smsl basically bundles the xmos driver for ALL their current products

ie. the xu200 xu300 all use the same driver

it *should* be V5.58.0

i have a bunch of smsl dacs and always just use the lastest driver

i also set my output to 32/192 which covers just about every format i care to listen to

if you do this you should get minimal breaks between tracks

What is the volume control error in DL200 mentioned earlier in this thread?

And could someone please sum up the mess with filters for a common peasant like me - which one is the best to stick with.

There is no step between 88 and 89. The filters have been referred to incorrectly in the manual. The correct list is at the end of the first post in this thread. If you don't need low latency, FL3 or FL4 are probably the best to use.

Hi. Can the RCA and Balanced output be used at the same time?
I want to send the RCA to my integrated Amp and the balanced output to my subwoofer, the Amp for subwoofer is a mono Nakamichi car Amp that accepts up to 6V on RCA and it also has SPK level input. I was thinking of connecting the Balanced output of the DAC to the RCA input of the AMP, is it even possible or should I stick to the SPK level input of the AMP.
Of course, I still don't have any thoughts about the cross-over. Any idea will help and is appreciated.

The output of XLR and RCA is simultaneous. However, you cannot simply connect the symmetrical XLR signal to the RCA input on your subwoofer.

I am using simple Y cable to split RCA signal. But also tried xlr to rca cable and did not notice any difference.

Got my DL200 and so far it sounds great. The only issue I have is that I get no sound from LO gain. Am I missing something or is there something wrong with the unit? Thanks.

I don't own the device but I think you are switching the ouput mode, not the gain level.
From manual:

OUTPUT
L o
H o

GAIN
G H
G L

So LO should be Line Output mode, against HO that is Headphone Output. You are disabling headphone out, hence no sound.

PS
Welcome to ASR.

Well crap I think you are right. I’ll double check when I get home. Thanks.
