Small DAP with Low Noise Floor and DLNA/UPnP Renderer Support?

I’m looking for the smallest DAP that can act as a DLNA/UPnP renderer.

The goal is to browse, search, and select music from TIDAL on my iPhone using mconnect (or something similar), then have the DAP pull the stream itself over Wi-Fi.

This won’t be my primary source, so I’m not looking for the absolute best DAP. My priorities are small size, reliable DLNA/UPnP playback, and a very low noise floor with sensitive IEMs (Unique Melody Multiverse Mentor). Basic EQ capability would also be a plus.

The main device I’ve been looking at is the AP80 Pro Max, but the 50 mV SNR measurement in Amir’s review gave me a little worry with the Mentor’s sensitivity. Am I worrying too much about that measurement, or are there better options for what im looking for.

The Hiby R1 has a DLNA Render function, and using a cs43131 DAC, its 50mV SNR number exceeds what Amir can measure with his APx555B.

Is there a reason to not use a phone with DAC dongle? DLNA can be done with VLC & FB2K and many others.

Or do yo want to play Tidal with mconnect, using both phone and DAP?

You won't get Tidal using DLNA (AFAIK) - DLNA is UPnP-based and not very secure; best used for home networks, but maybe products like Roon sort all this out for you?

But Tidal is not DLNA server. In this case mconnect probably works as Tidal client and DLNA server.
I'm not iPhone user, but I think similar alternative would be to use Tidal app and Airplay.

That’s my understanding too. I’m not looking for native Tidal support on the DAP, just something small that works reliably as a UPnP/DLNA renderer with mconnect. I’m having a harder time finding options than I expected. In theory, it wouldn’t even need a screen since I’d be doing all the browsing and playback control from my iPhone.

Wow this may really be a winner. My only concern will be the noise floor since I can’t find any tests, but at that price worth the risk. Thanks
