Hey guys, i run a studio for mixing and mastering, and we have a 2.1 system from Neumann, all calibrated with the Ma1.
2 - 310s and a 750 sub, and thinking of buying another to pair with them.

If someone here did this upgrade, can you tell me your experience?
Thanks in advance

I don't own the products, but there are two things you might consider.
1. When you opt for more than one subwoofer, you often get less stress on each subwoofer and a smoother overall response in one than one listening position - but only if done right, and in general it can potentially be easier to get a good response with additional bass-sources.
2. People need time to respond... not everyone is online all the time - give it a day or two ;)

Mixing and mastering with subs creates a dilemma - how many people viewing/listening to your mix will have subs? I enjoy the full sound of the subs, of course listen with small desktop speakers to make sure the tv speakers only crowd can hear, but am cautious when relying on subs for the end product. For now, a mix has to sound great without relying on subs to fill it out. I certainly wouldn't go for two in a mixing room, don't think I've ever seen that. I have it at home, like them a lot, but it's a bit of overkill and maybe even inappropriate in a mix room.

Nobody has answered because you haven't provided the information required. Do you have a problem you need to fix with a second sub? Have you dialled your first sub in properly? Do you have measurements showing that you have something that requires a second sub to fix?

If you're not mixing all the bass in mono, I would recommend stereo subs.

I wrote an article on potential benefits of dual subs not too long ago. Note that it is not specifically about studios, and note that we sell subs, so obviously it would make sense for me to recommend that people buy two subs. So take the article with as many grains of salt you want. :)
