I’ve been using the SM4 for a little while now, but the stock ear tips just didn’t work for me. The fit was off, so I swapped them out for the foam tips from my Truthear Hexa (which I absolutely love). The foam helped with seal and tamed the treble a bit, but at a cost, the soundstage felt more closed in, and I lost some detail.

I bought the SM4 knowing it wasn’t exactly my sound signature, but for $100 shipped, it was too good to pass up.

Today, the Dunu S&S tips arrived (I had to size up to XL because they run smaller than standard), and woah. The fit is incredible, like foam tips, but softer and with just the right amount of tackiness. Once inserted, they stay put.

Sound wise, there was a noticeable shift. The bass changed, not in quantity but in quality. It hits faster, with better control, which actually balances the treble. The soundstage also opened up significantly. I’m now hearing more separation between instruments and a greater sense of space.

The whole spatial perception changed. With foam tips, it felt like I was above the music somehow, like music was playing beneath me. Now, it feels like I’m right in the middle, surrounded by instruments. Much more immersive.

I guess I'm truly hearing them for the first time.

Foam tips can tame the highs quite a bit and they can tend to be quite a shallow fit, the Dunu S&S tips are quite a deep insertion which may affect the ear canal volume leading to a change in sound.

FWIW I use Dunu S&S tips on a few of my IEM’s, currently listening to Four Tet @ Glastonbury with my Kiwi Ears HBB Punch and small S&S tips, I find I often have to size down with them due to the increased insertion depth.

I have the opposite issue, stock tips sound great to me, substituting with third party tips kind of ruins the sound. I don't own SM4 though.
