Simgot EP5

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between Sennheiser HD560S and Simgot EP5 mainly for gaming, especially competitive FPS (CS2, Valorant, Tarkov, etc.). Which one is better for gaming?
Probably the HD560s because I'm thinking you'll probably be using it for gaming without applying any EQ, and the HD560s sounds better (more balanced) without EQ than the Simgot EP5 without EQ. For positional audio in fps gaming you don't really want lots of bass as it can muddy the sound cues a bit, so again the HD560s is better on that front.

Oratory published the EP5 measurements :

Like UnheardLab, it's not so far from Harman target with a bit of brightness at 6 kHz but YES, the too elevated bass.

I definitely went back to the AKG K371 for my personal preference. At first the EP5 is fun with this bass boost but it gives a compressed sound in a "vertical way". The bass is too elevated compared to male voices, it masks a bit.

As usual, the K371 seem more neutral, more linear but a bit much darker because of the 4 kHz dip.

"Better a dip than a peak"

Still, the EP5 do a very good job, way better than a lot of headphones measuring badly, and for ~80 €.

That's great! Thanks for letting us know he's measured it. It looks like a pretty nice one to EQ, as the EQ is not working too hard as if you look at it broadly he's only having to take down the treble peak at 6kHz and the bass peak at 100Hz, it's an efficient easy EQ! I'll be trying it fairly soon, I think that's a great omen for this headphone the way this has measured. Eyeballing it, it measures pretty close to the one unheard labs measured which is the one I based my EQ on.

Yes the two measurements are close.
I want headphones which sound good without EQ so I stay with the AKG but for people not bored by EQ, the EP5 are good headphones at fair price with nice confort and built.

The faux leather and aluminium headband is sturdy and lightweight. Maybe more durable than the AKG for which I don't have QC problem but a lot of people have.
