I'm interested on turning my amps on and off automagically based on a signal from my DAC. The problem is my DAC does not have a trigger switch, and two out of three of my amps don't have a trigger input. (The automatic trigger on the @boXem | audio Arthur looks perfect, but I have my amps.)

I think there are two parts to the problem - detecting when the DAC is playing, and doing something with it.

Has anyone tried either an eBay special (https://www.ebay.com/itm/173940637592), or the Rod Elliot project (https://sound-au.com/project38.htm), or detecting when CamillaDSP is processing?

For switching, there are a bunch of solutions. I would rather turn on the amps than bring them out of standby. There is the Neurochrome ISS (which I will use with my next build), or powering up two amps when the other starts (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002K8S2J6/), or the IoT Relay ( https://dlidirect.com/products/iot-power-relay (sold out everywhere at the moment)

Will this pair work? It’s what I use for a similar problem:

BobWire DAT1 Adds a 12V Trigger! Compatible with SONOS Connect, Echo Link, ChromeCast Audio, TV, anything with an Optical Audio Out. Auto Power On Amplifiers & Fans. NOT compatible with AV Receivers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QS89MZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PZF79HS5PA8KX3C77PZ4

And

The specific strip seems to be out of stock, but maybe there is other sources?

Nice product, but I only have analog outputs from my DAC. This was a suggested alternative though - https://rdlnet.com/product.php?page=130

That IoT relay is sold out everywhere.
