Sigberg Audio Saranna (fullrange, cardioid active floorstander) development thread

Very attractive, an besides: that grilles in the side slots are absolutely necessary if children are around (don't ask why I know, disassembled enough BR speakers).

Yes, those are fabric, so not 100% children safe. I suggest not purchasing such expensive speakers if you have small children, or use one of them children pen-thingys to have around the speakers (or the children). :D

Saranna custom made dampening feet adapted to the specific weight of the speakers from Egeland Acoustics in production. :)

I stumbled upon this thread and these speakers sound great.

I also looked up Sigberg Audio and whilst the speakers are out of my price range, the subwoofers are :).

I don't know how I've never heard of Sigberg, especially with the transparency of posting measurements in this thread.

I'm watching this thread now.

Thank you, Sigberg Audio is a relatively new (5 years) and small company, so it is not so strange that you haven't heard about it. Trying to get the brand better known and making people understand the benefits of our systems is actually my biggest focus and problem at the moment. To try to avoid the typical startup trap of making great products that no one has heard of. :D

The level of sound quality and room integration combined with dynamic capacity that we offer is not available many other places, but it takes time to build trust and awareness.

In other news, the custom white paint of the Shady White option looks absolutely stunning, I hope we will be able to get the right impression across in the product photos (due early June). It has a depth and very subtle veil of grey that makes it look extremely good! :D

It also captures light in a peculiar way. At the moment on my left speaker the baffle looks darker than the port panels on the side, while on my right speaker it looks like the opposite is true. :)

What about a matching central speaker?

We are not actively targeting home theater at this point. But the SBS.1 can easily be used as a center speaker, and will have very similar tonality.

I would be primarily for Atmos music, not movies, so I am not sure if home theater is a correct description.

Okay, we are not currently actively targeting multi-channel systems. :) We cannot be everything for everybody, so I try to double down on the niche we are currently in. That means music focus. And while I understand some have multi-channel systems for music, or combined systems they use for both, dedicated center channels or atmos / surround channels are not something we are designing or promoting. But as I said the SBS.1 will do a fine job in any channel of a multi-channel system.

OK :-) SBS.1 will do a fine job in any channel of a multi-channel system, but in a vertical position, right? Which would be a challenge in my situation.

Being a coaxial speaker, it´s not that terrible to use it horizontally.

It will work well in the horisontal position too, probably better than most MTM-style dedicated center speakers actually - due to the coaxial driver.

Product photos of the Shady White option is now finally available as well - this variant looks absolutely stunning! :D It features a paint in deep, silky white with a hint of grey. This is combined with Italian wood veneer in a neutral grey color that captures the light in a way that makes it take on a different hue depending on the lighting conditions.
