In the pic I don't like it. The wood grounds the speaker whereas the grey is too light. But I guess it depends on the environment.

Edit: Did you ever think of making the slots the same brown as the wood to achieve a Coffee-Like apperance? A bit like Noctua. Could be cool. In general, with a black and white, any accent color you add will pop like hell. Imagine having orange accents or cyan.

Are you thinking with regards to the wood veneer / base? Or something else?

Only potential changes planned for the Manta (beyond the new Sentinel configuration) are wood variants.

Possibly light wood on the white, and possibly dark wood on the black one. It's not an immediate change, and not concluded, but may happen down the line.

Since it's theoretically summer holidays, I'm relaxing with some hobby related activities, namely experimenting with the Manta crossovers.
The crossover between the 12" and the midrange has now been preliminarily moved from 600hz to around 835hz, and also steepened the parabolic slope somewhat. This seems to smoothen out the directivity a little bit. So will run them like this for a while, as I'm listening quite a bit to them either way nowadays since I'm testing the Sentinel sub connected to the Mantas.

Anyway, I took the opportunity to do some nearfield measurements of the coaxial driver, which I still think is pretty darn good and clean.

Yellow/gold color is on-axis nearfield at ~5cm.
Purple is around 30 degrees of-axis at ~15cm to see if that triggered any diffractions in the measurements.

No smoothing on either graphs. Note that the graph starts at 1khz.
