@ryanosaur Nice!

Pro tip: The tweeter is held in place by these clips, so if you are going to fasten the wires with spades, it might be a good idea to hold these in place when you attach them. Because if you push too hard the tweeter will pop out. :)

Can someone please try measurements with an open-cell foam (or light felt) ring placed over the transition between tweeter surround and woofer voice coil? Basically thinking that some direct attenuation of diffraction from there might help clean up the response a bit. I'm not sure what thickness nor height above that area is appropriate though.

Whew! I was wondering if it was meant to be a proprietary connector and if I should futz with it…

Good looking out Thorbjørn! ;)

Question, since you brought it up… what happens if one happens to pop the tweeter out? Is it a simple matter of sliding it back in or does the entire world just disappear in a singularity?

(Or any other of myriad outcomes between “oops” and erasing all of humanity from the universe?)

:)

I would imagine your continent might evaporate, but probably not the entire planet.

It's a matter of just pushing it back in. :) But the clips don't feel extremely durable, it feels like they don't fit as tight if you pop it out and then in again. The only reason to pop it out would likely be to replace with a new tweeter (with new clips), so it's not designed to be popped in and out I think. I like the solution in the 8" coax much better where the compression driver is screwed in place.

Is the tweeter in the back cap of the driver?

They specialize in pro gear. Who other right mind would use pro gear for HiFi?

Some companies do KS Digital and Dynamikks from Germany, for example.

I also do this often.
Here is a B&C 8 inch coax supported by an 18 inch subwoofer.
