All my source gear and application is kept in a separate room down the hall:

And finally, here’s a remote control I had custom designed. I was sick of manipulating the volume and other features with a smart screen or remote with tiny buttons. I just wanted a nice big volume knob that I could use from my listening position. I much prefer the haptics.

It’s a really nice ergonomic design, the teardrop wood base feels great and supports my wrist wonderfully.

Plus, the volume knob has all sorts of additional functions if I want them, push down to mute or dim the sound, double tap to change inputs, it can work with any of my preamplifiers, it can control volume and picture when I’m watching a movie, etc:

returned to my small room, 3m by 5m

In use, now, Audio Note Oto, with Dynaudio, cd Mark Levinson, and Qobuz streaming service.

Sometimes I switch with preamp and power amp.

I’m very happy with my system, and setup and my room!!

Among the many photos, I found one taken of my first system, in 1993, when I purchased the Audio Note, the speaker stands, and the cabinet for the system components. It had only one flaw: I had to move the speakers every time I listened... but how beautiful it was. The speakers were ESBs, the CD player was a Pioneer PD 7700, and the tape deck was an Aiwa. Aside from the CD player, I still have everything, and I still use the amplifier today!

Last Christmas with my ma, at my place in the UK.

As well as the large Genelec 7370A sub on the left between the chair and the bookcase, there's also a smaller 7360A sub to the right of the xmas tree, as well as a couple of 8341As wall mounted behind. The source is a Windows 11 media-server behind that dark blue velvet curtain below the front right 8351B, with an RME HDSPe AES PCIe card feeding all 7 channels digitally.
I can't see me ever changing this set-up unless I move house for some reason. I couldn't be happier with it. That said I do plan to wall-mount that centre 8351B at some point, as I don't like the white stand it's currently on.

Subwoofers can be seen in the corners. There are four monoblocks here and an 8 channel DAC. They are all in the picture but I have hidden them well enough so the system doesn't look too cluttered :)

There is some scattered acoustic treatment that I bought years ago when I didn't know what I was doing and lived in a different home. I don't need them, so I chuck them there. It probably has a small effect, certainly not as profound as placing them behind me.

I always get a kick out of seeing your system!
Beautiful gear. Tubes always get a thumbs up from me. :) And it’s a beautiful space.

These speakers really look like the Avantgarde duo.
