Show us your homebrew cables

I did find out need 18 mm cable stress relief.

3/8 for cable sleving of my choice .

I’ll might give it shot with my fabelous Mogami 3103.

The only flaw I do not own proper crimping tool for comping banana plugs . At moment I use 2 screw banana plugs .

I know there is an endless debate whether soldering-crimping etc is worse …

If someone can share an Amazon link with crimping banana plugs and tools I’d need .

I would appreciate it .

I also enjoy building my own cables

As mentioned do someone know of the correct crimping tool from Amazon ,

And matching crimping plugs which may fit my 3103 Mogami ones .

Thanks .

@CptKaos , do you know if the locking plugs would suit the 3103?

I see some sellers use Hicon locking ones. Looks like a decent price for 8 pair . I’ve read they get lose over time.

But as mentioned below…

The only banana not BFA which does not come or lose their tightness over time is indeed Hicon . So this might be because some sellers use Hicon .

I’ve got pair of screw clamping plugs on the Mogami ones , but locking plugs intrigues me.

your 3103 Mogami cable is 2 x 12ga wire, the Canare 4s11 cable I am using in the upper 2 sets is 4 x 11ga wire
the locking banana plugs are Parts Express Locking Bananas, the others are Viborg Solid Copper Banana Plugs
they are both double lock screw plugs and 4 11ga wire fills them pretty well, I never crimp or solder speaker cables
the bottom right picture is a cable I made with 4 x 16ga OFC wire in a loose chain braid with Sewell Deadbolt Banana plugs

Think I’ll go for the Viborg ones .

Thanks .,

Jaycar 8G power cable @AUD$10.95/m. For some reason they didn't sell spade connectors. So I made my own by twisting the bare conductor into a loop and soldering it together. The new cable was required because the old ones weren't long enough.

It sounds ethereal, as if a fog has been lifted from the system. My wife was in the kitchen and noticed the difference immediately. She sat down to marvel at my new speaker cable and remarked that it sounded so much better than my old one. My neighbour stopped mowing his lawn and came to marvel at this wonder of engineering. Even the construction workers down the road could hear the difference, they put down their jackhammers and listened in amazement.
Go bigger! You can do it!!!
