Thank you Sal, when my friend told me back in Sept he was going to sell it I couldn't let it pass. Two years ago it received NCRS 'Top Flight' status at a Regional meet, scoring 99.3. It marks my 7th Corvette over the past 45 years,
I've got a C5 though not Z06. If its the newest Vette you've owned, I think you'll find it drives much better than the others. Though most Vettes have their charms. I driven almost all versions at one time or another from 1957 and newer.

I prefer the term land barge.

A older lady down the street where I grew up purchased a new 1976 Electra 225. I was tasked with driving her around town at times. Hers was just this color with vinyl top and fender skirts. The engine was so far from the front of the car. There was like an 18 inch fan shroud from engine fan to radiator and the radiator sat maybe a foot behind the front fascia. 4600 pounds and about 6 inches short of 20 feet long. Or compared to the best selling vehicle in the USA currently the Ford F150 4 door, just about exactly average sized.

When in an accident involving the front or rear end, the accident is usually "out there" as opposed to "in here".

@Frank Dernie did the order arrive?
No, and no indication really of when it might.
When talking to the dealer before my order they said their allocations for build were full up to November, when I placed the order they said sometime next year, hopefully the first half.
It is 5 months now :(
I may cancel the order and not bother.

That's really too bad.

I had a C6 (2012 GS) that was a joy to drive but the visceral connection is much more in play for me with my '67BB. The clean lines of the C5's are by far the best looking of the 'plastic' generation Corvettes IMO, granted the rear end is a bit of a 'ducks ass' ! While I've never owned a C1 I've driven a few and to me it's kinda like sitting in a go-kart.

@Twitch54 Super clean C5Z, nice pickup! For me the styling on those is aging really well, but it could partially be that my car bug was really sparked around when those were new. Needs more lower. :)

Lower, I agree. trouble is I live in this 'third world dung hole' (speaking of roads) known as Pennsyltucky !

I've owned 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 cylinder vehicles, including a few boxers, rotaries and 2-strokes.
A TR-6, an RX-7, and a Supra were all a delight to own and drive, if I stick to "cagers" for this topic.
But none has given me more pleasure than when I chanced upon one of those "There ain't replacement for cubic-inch displacement" cars.
Some call it the poor man's Vette. Others accuse me of being environmentally comatose, and I am probably going to be helping the OIL companies in the amount of gas that it guzzles. No matter!

Sweet ride, @pseudoid ! My daily is a V8 with two turbos on it, so I'm drinking the same irresponsible Kool aid! :)

All cars are beginning to look like clones of each other to me.
Here is this mornings capture and the photo-collage should speak mostly on its own.

Only 2 were left in the western US in its 3rd and last year before Pontiac was axed (and Holden meeting the same chopping block, a little later).
One was a 'crushed orange' and the other was this 'red' one. Not my colors but all the other 6-speeds in 2006 were goners, and I had no choice!
