Something with a Mazda engine that has severely limited access to the rearmost spark plug. Am I right?

Opps, Naw I was fooled in the first picture. It's got a fake intermediate "firewall" for accident safety "crump zone" there I guess.


You doing "track days"? Maybe a great idea would be to install the strut tower brace I see on @carbidetooth car?

Nah. I took it off. Shock tower deflection has been measured to be <1mm under heavy load (cornering with racing slicks). It's just dead weight unless something is wrong with the suspension, in which case fix it instead of bolting a band aid to it.

Not that much into cars anymore but was pleasantly surprised how good is the 2025 BMW 420i coupe with M pack. Small engine but spirited and really fun to drive after all the 4 wheel cars we had recently. My wife apparently needed a new city car No decent photos yet though as it only came yesterday.

Apart from the hateable grille, it's actually a really pretty car too. Unusual for BMW these days. That angle is perhaps the most flattering. Great sideline and proper butt.

Not sure what to think about the front grill yet. It is definitely imposing...Overall yeah it is a well put together car. We have 2023 CLS 450 4matic which is also a classic of its own (not in production any more), but I can see myself with the Beamer more often when no snow, ice or heavy rain...CLS is clearly a limo with some coupe resemblance.

Now the weather is improving here in the UK I can take it out and give it a good spanking. The Flat 6 howl is addictive.

Actually no. Plastic cover pops off and #4 coil and plug is easy.

Firewall is not fake nor intermediate, but engine does sit under cowl a bit. Technically, Miatas don't have strut towers as they are double wishbone front suspension. Thus, shock towers don't see anything near the load that a Macpherson Strut would induce.

Spank it really good as it deserves . Will probably go for another fun car before age takes over, but simply too much choice. I never had a Porsche, so definitively high on the short bucket list.

If you do, get a normally aspirated version. I have had a 911 turbo and it’s fast as fuck, but lacks the personality of a high revving flat 6. Ok it’s not easy to use it on public roads, but the occasional overtaking manoeuvre makes the hairs on the back your neck stand up.

I too have a turbo Miata. Mine comes with chicken and rice soup. (Warming lunch on the turbo and oil cooler at the track.)

My GF and I autocross an NB in ES class. Stock except for sticky rubber and front sway bar. Not bad for a 25-year-old car. At 70 years, I suspect the car is a bit more capable than its drivers, but we press on. NC is my roundabout hunter. 240 RWHP in 2400 lb. car is a smile inducing fun machine!

It's interesting that they have the word 'TRAILER' on the side of the trailer. You, know, just in case you were un-aware that it is a trailer? Is that a legal requirement there? (I haven't been to my born place of Salzburg, Austria since around 1990, so I am un-aware of what rules/laws they may have enacted there, so it is a serious question).

Good to know. Had some fast cars in the past, and probably looking more for fun that so fast. After all nowhere to take it for a spin nowadays except the track.

Remember that road between Zilina Slovakia and Zagreb Croatia (like 630km)

used to take me max 5 hours 10 years ago without penalties. Now I usually get couple of hundred euros each way even for 7 hour run.

Honestly have no idea. That was the photo taken when the car was picked up in Germany from a dealer on route to Slovakia for delivery. Delivery and import export is taken care by Slovak company so not much I can say. Lots of people in Europe shop for German cars as they are competitively priced and selection is great.

My Mazdas never had that problem.
Their multi-electrode spark plugs were so accessible that you gladly changed them and often.
"Why?" you ask: Misfires were never kind to old rotaries... so much so that dual-plugs were used for each of the two chambers.
