I use exclusively balanced cables. Most new electronica nowadays are balanced.
Most "consumer electronics" unfortunately isn't. I love balanced connections, so I buy professional equipment that only I can operate. Meanwhile, my partner listens through his Bluetooth speaker...

Not true, most recent HiFi consumer electronics (in the last 10 years or so) have balanced connections.

Mine needs tidying… and a few more RCAs making to tidy it up some more… A Denon 3700 in preamp only mode with a 5.4.2 setup with twin Helix DSP’s for 9-10 channels of input (capable of 16, 8 on each Dsp) and up to 22 processed channels of output… I will be tuning it with Smaart when I sort sending pink noise to all channels and ideally have no crossovers in the AVR applied which is harder than you’d think so far setting all drivers to large and having the subs split off the front two main channels seems like a good idea to allow me to cross them over as required and mute and unmute whatever drivers I want
I kindly disagree.
My impression is that at least in "mainstream" devices unbalanced RCA is still the norm. As I run active speakers since more than 10 years, I switched to balanced analog connections back then. It was not easy to find appropriate equipment. I started with a T+A DAC 8 and my KH120A, then quickly switched to RME A/D-D/A interfaces and still use them today.

Almost all the modern DACs that aren't the cheapest entry level reviewed on ASR has balanced.
This has been the case with the last 10 years, give or take.
About three years ago I brought some spare RCA cables, and I have yet to find an opportunity to use them.

You are right, some DACs and amplifiers (e.g. Hypex, Purify, Benchmark...) have balanced connections. However, scrolling through the photos in this thread, this seems to be clearly not the norm.

I've started cleaning up the cables, in anticipation of the 37U rack that's coming this week.
I've already bought some cable guides for the rack, I've also got the dedicated washers with screws. I can't wait to get rid of the pile of cables at the back of the tower.
Here is a rendering of the entire Marantz system, I'll put two DBX and a deck on top.
The devices are real, the background is just to see how it would look, but I don't like it, I'll put other sound-proofing panels.

Being a born again hifi newbie, I have and will be spending (waisting) considerable time thinking through how to get whatever I want (bouncing target) to avoid seeing cables I don't have to see. And those I don't have to see, must be kept to a minimum too. Same goes for devices, I don't want to see any I don't have to physically interact with.What do you mean walk of shame! For my desk, I have fixed a powerstrip beneath the desktop and the powercables are specific lengths to avoid slack. It's a lift desk, and the only cable leaving the desk is one powercable. The device powercables are also angled to get it right - horizontal exit from the powerstrip, not downwards....
Probably OCD generously handed down from my old man who was a.o an electrician and a carpenter

Was working for one of the large oil companies, and my boss (a Macintosh guy) went on vacation. He got pretty mad at me when he returned, as I had rearranged his office completely. A few days later, and he was more than happy. No sun shining directly on his pc-screen. Which was the only reason for me doing it.
