I need tyres for my old 26" MTB (2011 I bought it) with UST rims. Does anyone still make UST tyres for 26" wheels or are they long gone ?

Any 26” “Tubeless Ready” tyre of good quality from the major manufacturers such as maxis/continental/schwalbe etc will be suitable, do you have mavic rims?…..they will and do readily accept “normal” tyres and bead will “snap” into place

I would swear ^that^ is from the campground on the south side of the Danube between Linz and Vienna.
The big river in this case is the Rhine. Somewhere between Koblenz and Boppard. Castle Marksburg. I am planning a Danube bike ride for summer 2026. ;)

It does look similar but not having been to my born place of Salzburg since 1990 something (or even anywhere in Europe), it's hard to say.

That was my first thought as well, having passed this place on a bicycle trip down the Rhine to the sea 30 years ago.

I took the opposite direction, from Schiphol Airport to Basel.

We had some double-boch, a couple of pears, and a block of parmesan cheese at a camp ground on the Danube… riding back towards Linz from Vienna on the Santana.
Across from a similar looking castle.

That's an _interesting_ combination - I'd like them individually - I'd have to try the combination to be sure though. Sometimes the oddities take a lot of tasting before you can decide whether you like it or not - and it may run out before you've decided! Makes for a good taster for the following year though.

There was a small market, and that was about all that we could get.
But it was really good none the less.

The only thing not great that evening was the mosquitos.

My problem was always the yellow jackets: but give them a swallow of beer in the bottom of a bottle that you don't disturb and they happily go drown themselves in it.

Cheers. The rims are Shimano Deore XT and are the UST compliant version (most likely made by Mavic) - I ran tubeless UST without needing any strip or sealant - and worked well.

I'm guessing with tubeless ready I just drop some sealant in and they should work ?

I think that's your major advantage with a "tubeless ready" rim.

Yeah - I’ve always used stans as it’s the cheapest option and decent enough at sealing small nicks/thorns etc (apart from making your own with art shop latex etc) but “certain” brands/designs of tyres pop onto the bead easier than others depending on the sidewalls so an air compressor or tubeless inflation device/pump may make it easier than furiously pumping away with a “normal” track pump

A compressor makes things so easy....for a variety of uses, too. Stan's is what I use, buy it in bulk but still use the small bottles for portioning/carrying spare.
