Show us your bicycles!

A few decades ago [and as I recall], American team in San Diego America's Cup came with a catamaran to the series, as it turned out that none of the regulations specially banned cats from racing in the Cup.
That year's was mostly won in court IIRC, and didn't reflect well on anyone.

I would I'm a bit biased towards Orbea. Current stable: 2020 Oiz, 2017 Occam, 2022 Oiz, 2022 Rise, 2022 Oiz 27.5, Mrazek Boh Custom. Old flames Intense Spider carbon, Ellsworth. I still have my first bicycle a Schwinn Stingray!

Seems a waste to have all those nice mountain bikes in flat Florida! :) J/K....sort of. What park is that wall ride at?

I know ! ha ha ha We have built many features and climbs. There are various really cool parks in FL. That wall is at Markham Park (Broward County - greater Ft Lauderdale) which is perhaps the most popular of the local parks.

I also ride in other states.

The one I remember hearing about is Alafia and maybe another in an old excavation pit?
Alafia used to be a phosphate mine. Wicked trails!

While I positively love that Platypus, I recently bought a new ride that is its polar opposite. I still own and love my steel lugged bikes, but with age has come the realization that I need a bit of a boost if I am not going to dismount and push the bike home up that last hill.

This carbon fiber e-bike lets me go out and ride like it 1999 again.

Seeing that Platypus reminds me that I just bought a Cruiser for my son who is going to UC Davis (freshman). He confirms that this week already 33 bikes have been stolen on campus. His bike cost 2/3 what the chains, padlocks and u locks cost me

Yeah, I won’t be locking the Riv to any public bike racks. I’m retired, and my wife and I almost always ride together, so one of us stays outside with the bikes when we’re grocery shopping or picking up coffee or take out.

I had so many bikes stolen as a kid/teenager (even with decent locks)...but have not let them much out of sight as an adult unless in a group or something where you can post a sentry! :)

Had a bike stolen when I was a frosh. I took a department store Murray 10 speed to college. Figured no one would steal it as there were lots of other expensive bikes around. But it had lots of chrome and a spiffy pearl paint job. Yeah chromed steel versus everyone else's matte aluminum parts. Was heavy and all, but beat walking. Well, apparently the the bike thieves from the surrounding neighborhood weren't up on what made for a good bike. They stole my bike while ignoring over a dozen others. The cheapest one was about 3 times as expensive as my mine.

So the folks homeowners paid for that bike, I hustled up some side work, and bought my first good bike. French made Motobecane. No one stole it. Well until 40 years later. I had it in a garage and somebody jimmied the door and took my 40 year old bike which I had just put some tires on. And I'm glad they did because I had a titanium and carbon Serotta in the same garage. Ghetto bike thieves fortunately don't know what the good bikes are.

So true on what can look "attractive"....

Had to part with my old Specialized Stump Jumper awhile back. Bikeless at the moment. When I want a little inspiration, I revisit this little bike journey to the Isle of Sky. Enjoy.

I saw a post earlier today about having a kiddie trailer and had the link handy....

My off to college bike was a shiny new Motobecane. It lasted six weeks into my freshman year. It was an expensive lesson, but I learned the value of a good lock.

Just Wow!

I love Skye. Been there twice in my life, both in Glenbrittle Campground. The plain rock of the Cullins is extremely rough, almost like sandpaper and gives an incredible grip on good montain boots. The scree slabs are a lot of fun to run down. And not to forget close by Talisker destillery, one of my favorite Whiskeys.:)
