Spendor S100's removed from dedicated stands, and pushed into a corner.
These little beauties, on the same stands with the help of some modified cupboard shelving. Each speaker half over the REL subs, as were the Spendors. The stands tilted back fractionally to try to aim the Tweeter at the listening position, height wise.
A few hours of listening. Classical (Mozart), Rock, indie. Not played too loud. Haven't attempted to change how the subs crossover up to now.
They sound simply terrific. (Sorry, can't dredge up any snake oil descriptions!)
Can't say they sound dramatically different from the Spendors, although, at one point, my beloved did comment that they sounded a little, "sharp". As she sits right in the middle of the speakers and fractionally to their rear, she certainly isn't in the best listening position!
Build quality sensational.
Thankyou sweetchaos for your passive speaker recommendations. Early days, but I am most impressed with these, and the customer contact from Ascend Acoustics.
