Skipinnish - Coire Bhreacan
I thought of some of them. The premise of this thread could send me into a full-blown anxiety attack... like, where do you even begin?!
OK, maybe let's start with a classic.
This haunting song was a major hit back in the day.
This Italian oldie, a Morricone composition, has contributed my ringtone.
Fast forward 2 decades in Italy with another classic.
I love the atmosphere on this one. Not a bad test track, I reckon.
And here's one from the local "if you don't know this one (at least the chorus), you've probably been living under a rock" department:
I think this would have been the first big hit from what's now known as the Eurovision Song Contest.
Which reminds me... This was the 1964 winner.
The song title was apt, as then 16-year-old Gigliola remained the youngest contestant for over 2 decades. There's just something about '60s orchestral pop arrangements.
I thought about posting something French, and as it happens, here's 1965's winner.
Though these days, you're more likely to hear her '80s hits on the radio, such as this one (a tribute to jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald).
Now you could fill entire volumes with 1970s/80s Japan alone, and I haven't even posted anything remotely recent yet... this will be something for the next post.
