Share your Auro3D upmixer settings (Auro-matic)

Hey community,

For those of you who use the Auro3D upmixer, what setting do you choose? What’s your speaker layout? Do you use the same for setting for both music and movies? I saw the upmixer thread, but most interested in Auro3D.

Speaker Layout: 5.2.4
Auro-Matic 3D Preset: Medium
Auro-Matic 3D Strength: 12

It’s been a while since I’ve toyed with it and figured that instead of changing aimlessly I’d gather some feedback.

9.5.2 (front height)
Small = 10
Front Wide synth on (HTP1 feature)
 
7.5.6
Large, 10
Sometimes Medium, 12
Auro3D =More "fun"
DolbySur. = More clear, detailed.
 
Thanks! I am using Neural:X for movies at the moment. Wish there was one Auro setting to use for both.
 
Color me surprised more people haven’t shared their settings. Giving this a bump. I’m going to double down by sharing my new choice after remeasuring with Dirac tomorrow.
 
I primarily use it for music, mostly with the upmixer rather than native Auro-3D content. For non-music content, I use the Dolby Surround upmixer.

Speaker layout: 7.2.5

Front Height, Top Rear, VOG (Top Middle)
Auro-Matic 3D settings:

Preset: Medium
Strength: 11
I originally had a Dolby Atmos setup (Top Front), but I didn’t like the sound quality for Auro-3D and didn’t use it much. However, after adding Front Heights specifically for Auro-3D, I can now fully enjoy it!

This is how I have my front height and top speakers set up separately.
The front heights are placed at a 35° angle.
I really enjoy the Auro-3D soundstage with this setup.
As for Dolby Atmos, I personally prefer using top speakers over front heights.

Yeah, well... one is not on these forums to remain blissfully ignorant, so I obviously appreciate what he did, since it prompted me to repeat similar measurements this morning.

And I have to say I'm not that happy. Having increased bass is not what I'm looking for. I've got a target curve for that already. Auromatic adding bass on top of that...
