Saw this on r/headphones. They're emphasizing on bass so I assume this could be first Sennheiser open-back headphones with proper bass.

I received my 58X Jubilee after some delay due to Drop supply issues. $150 delivered UK, no import duty, which, compared to the rest of the 6 series seems quite a good price.

I bought it to add to my humble collection which all have different sound signatures and all of which I like; Beyerdynamic DT700 ProX, Grado SR80X, Hifiman Sundara, Mezze 99 Classic.

The 58X is certainly different. Initial impressions are good; Fun, engaging, decent drive, rythmic etc. and (expected) limited soundstage. (Unequalized yet, I will come to that once it's run in a few hours).

I am not sure how much SQ is lost to other 6 series phones but I certainly would recommend the 58X but perhaps not as an only Headphone.

One thing worth mentioning is clamping force which was considerable! A little easing on the metal parts of the headband easily and quickly solved this though. Now very comfortable.

HD560S already has proper bass.
Certainly in comparison to the HD660s! I still use EQ to boost up the bass on the HD560s to Harman levels though.
Anyone seen any measurements for the HD660S2? The normal HD660s is very deficient in bass so it has a long way to climb!

I have 58X and the 600 series as well (600 and 6xx) and in my experience not a significant lot is lost to sound quality. 58X is a very decent headphone. Enjoy!

Can't wait for measurements on 660s2, it will be exciting to see, I have a feeling there will come an updated HD 800s in the near future as well.

I was thinking the same. My rationale is that Sonova execs who were behind the purchase would probably be keen to show some good return on invested capital I guess :)

Out of curiosity who did that measurement, where did you get it from?

Looks like HD560s is still better extended in the bass though (as long as the measurement rigs are comparable in this sense), it's only 1dB down at 20Hz in comparison to 450Hz):

€599 seems stretched to be honest (that's the price of an LCD-2C on offer), assuming only the frequency response is different between the 660s and 660S2. I'm a huge fan of the original 660S with EQ (the imaging, dynamics and timbre are superb at €350), but if they keep the plastic design for the 660S2 for nearly double the price... that's a no-go for me.

The pre-order price of HD660S2 in the UK is £499. Not cheap.
I once purchased a new HD660S from Amazon US for $331.75. With it I can hear the details in a symphony, but the bass is not sufficient to my taste.

I don't think it's gonna be worth it, not for the HD660S nor the HD660S2.

If their claims are true and they fixthe critical points, than it will be literally instabuy for 500 pounds.
In the long run literally any HD6 serie headphone beats almost any headphone in the market, i mean at first hear, many expensive headphone having the wow factor, but later i just calmly returned to the HD650, because that "wow" factor later become fatigue and unpleasantness. So just imagine how good will be a fixed HD660s...
