These aren't mine, but several people have counterfeits that were bought new for a suspiciously low price, around $80-$100. They haven't been measured yet.

Well the earpads definitely look wrong and stand out as the biggest first noticeable difference. The pads of the counterfeit look thicker & fluffier. And the angular shape within each earcup that sticks out looks less defined and crisp and might be a slightly different shape.

I’ve had the Sennheiser HD560S for a year now, and I’m very happy with them. I use them with my Denon X3800H receiver, mainly for movies, TV shows, and PS5 games.

I’ve seen the Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X on sale recently. In your opinion, are they better than the HD560S, or would I not notice much of a difference?

Then don't waste your time. There's a good chance you don't like the new headphones as much and you have to deal with returning.

I recently wanted to try 620S because my DT 700 Pro X started to show wear, headband skin material got loose. I couldn't get enough low frequencies SPL from 620S to match 560S or DT 700 Pro X so sent them back.

I bought my 560S in 2020 and they are still going strong, best and hardiest headphones I've ever had. I've only swapped worn ear pads with them.

Isn't the driver the most important factor wrt sound reproduction?
How will these drivers compare to the originals wrt sound quality?
Do you think the driver is fake, or is there no way to tell from the pictures?
Why would someone sell fakes of something that the original is quite cheap already and thus really marginal profit ?

It's impossible to know how far different they are from the genuine product until they're measured, but the more parts of it that aren't good clones or aren't the original parts then the further it's gonna be from the genuine product in terms of sound. The pads will impact the sound both in terms of how far the driver is away from the ear & I suppose the shape of the earcup inside will influence the sound, then you've got any differences re the driver. Here in the UK you can get a genuine HD560s new for about £86 when it's on sale sometimes, so they're not expensive really, so here in the UK you'd be pretty crazy to skimp out and buy aliexpress fakes.

Yeah, I agree w/ all that. Not in the UK atm, but I guess I have to BOLO. I’m just so let down as I was counting down the days literally.

Edit: Does this mean that all the other headphones on AliExpress are really counterfeit? I can’t trust any listing on there anymore, and there are loads of them. So everyone on here buys from the manufacturer’s site?
