Not really. 26-28AWG is what you'll find in a lot of stock cables.
However, those aren't usually 6m long ;)

Yeh I need something for the couch, 4.5m back.

1.5m extra needed to then come up the couch and have a little extra slack.

6m would give you 1.32Ω resistance per conductor.
I have a near 0 ohm output impedance headamp (SMSL SP400 measured here at ASR)

So for the imepedance of 560S headphones, this 1.32 ohm cable resistance per conductor is not an issue at all right ?

no effect on frequency response?

And plenty power for 6m length (voltage drop)

No issue as the return wires are separated.
No need to worry about 'Damping Factor' either.

I never used any Mogamy, when @staticV3 recommends it is fine.

I never used those cables so have no idea if the are supple, low in microphonics and weight.

The wire resistance is totally irrelevant.
The attenuation compared to no cable is 0.07dB.

Looks almost identical except that the conductors don't have distinct colors (typical quad colorway), so make sure you beep test them with a multimeter during soldering so you don't mix up the connections.

The Belden is star quad config - helpful or not really ? Especially over 6m

And for 4 conductors plus shield, you wouldn't use the shield at all right ? Shield stays disconnected both ends ?

I have only re-used headphone cables that came with headphones or re-terminated.
Filters I make use short microphone cables which I buy from either Thomann or Conrad. These cables do not have to have the typical characteristics headphone cables need to have (IMO)
Such as: supple, thin, light weight, easy to solder, no cloth sheathing, tangle free (if possible) and low in microphonics.

From what I understand, you can't really make use of the star quad magic, since it's intended to transmit one differential audio signal, not two single-ended ones, though it shouldn't hurt either.
(Perhaps double helix would be better, but I haven't tried measuring that yet and also don't really know what I'm talking about tbh)

As for the shield, I'd connect it to the 3.5/6.35mm GND and leave it disconnected on the headphone end. Might actually help with 6m length.

Thanks for the advice! I'll order this Mogami

Why have one end connected to shield and other end disconnected from shield?

I understand the logic with some other cables (avoiding ground loop) but for headphones does that make any difference ?

My SMSL SP400 headamp is earthed.
