The audiophile competition have outpaced Sennheiser in every price bracket above $300. Sennheiser has only the 58X and 6XX left. This is just sad …

"Now the company has found a buyer in Sonova. In a joint statement by Sennheiser’s co-CEOs, brothers Andreas and Daniel Sennheiser, the pair said they “couldn’t have asked for [a] better” partner. “A partner who not only shares our passion for audio and a commitment to the highest product quality, but also very similar corporate values,” they write. “This is an excellent foundation for a successful future together.”

In an announcement of the deal from Sonova, the company said it will continue to sell products under the Sennheiser brand. “Combining our audiological expertise with Sennheiser’s know-how in sound delivery, their great reputation as well as their high-quality products will allow us to expand our offering and to create important touchpoints with consumers earlier in their hearing journey,” said Sonova CEO Arnd Kaldowski."

Was Neumann, a company owned by Sennheiser, part of that sale?

A good plan. Sennheiser needs capital in this environment. Harmon gobbled by Samsung. Just hope new parents don't screw up.

Consumer electronics is cutthroat. Most consumers have never heard of Sennheiser. Bought my first pair in 1972. 414's as I recall. How many times have you heard the noun "Bose" from your friends. How can you respond? Buy Klipsch instead?

M&A is a pretty complicated thing. what exactly did they sell? did tooling and production, employees in the division come with it? is it just the brand an acqui-hire informal agreement? very curious.

Reminds me of this foil sample I kept from back in the furniture days. Sonova Beech. LOL.

And the corporate Sonova BS:

"...and to create important touchpoints with consumers earlier in their hearing journey"

Sennheiser bought Klein&Hummel rebranded the name to Neumann as they owned that company to, later on stated that sennheiser was for sale because of low sales and wanted to reinforce Neumann altogether.

Jabra's parent comapny is a hearing aid company too (GN Group)

Maybe they're all thinking forward to when bionic hearing eventually gets close to natural hearing?

Apple is a biomedical engineering company now (look at Apple Watch tech) and now well and truely a big name in "hearables"
