Seeking Guidance for a “Good Enough” HiFi Setup in livingroom.

Both solutions can be good if you choose good speakers but what I'm wondering is if you're going to have the bookshelf speakers on a stand? If so, they will take up about the same kind of physical space as a pair of floor standing speakers. IF that is the case, what do you gain from it? Other than that you can get a stand that gives the possibility of customized placement height of the speakers.

If you are going to place the speakers on stands and want them in metal, I can recommend you contact a local welding shop. They can create some custom ones for you.:)
The speakers will go on stands for sure. The livingroom will be quite crowded from furniture and I think a tower speaker will look cramped. A stand mount will certainly look a bit more sleek (maybe not SourcePoint 8 :D) and could possibly be placed near the wall.

Read some where that, say, a 2000$ stand mount will get you a better speaker than a 2000$ tower?

I need to get out and listen to speakers more to get a feel for different manufacturers house sound.
There is a Dynaudio Evoke 30 on sale at hifitorget.se for 25.000sek (~2200$) which I have not yet heard, but it looks great and the price could be right.

.....or maybe a slim tower.
A slim tower you say. Why not consider the Elac FS 247.4 that I suggested in #30? :)

Daniboun likes them and they also measure well:

Here is a sales video about them. The video contains general information about them. I'm just including that video so you can see and get a feel for their size:

I have completly missed that! Apprechiate you reminded me. Need to listen to elac again, last time was in 2008.

... wonder how the new Vela 407.2 measures. It looks fantastic.
