This is great news. Their future looked iffy for a time. I do some rent by mail from Scarecrow. They have a deep library. The RBM pricing isn’t as attractive as some other rental services and they restrict most new releases to “in-store only”, but Scarecrow is a great resource nonetheless, and I’m glad to support them. If I actually lived near them, I’d be thrilled.
Have been through their store several times. Talk about being gob smacked for choice! More than you could possibly imagine, and some unbelievably obscure and eclectic stuff. Most of it may be available via streaming somewhere but I find there's no substitute for being able to browse the physical items in terms of discoverability. But they're a ferry ride and that horrible I5 traffic away for me. Definitely worth a visit, however. Parking isn't great.

Depending on the popularity of a 'new' release or acquisition, it can take from 3 to 6 months before Scarecrow Video designates a title as available to rent by mail.

On the other hand, if you want to rent the workprint version of Blade Runner on blu-ray, they have it. With some RBM adjustments to mimic 3D Blu Ray Rental and Choovie, Scarecrow’s rental operation could go through the roof, but I’m just happy they’re around. Browsing that store in person must be amazing.

I was unaware of Choovie. Thank you for the mention.
On-site browsing 'is' amazing but can slow the turnover of the 16 to 18 slots in their parking lot.
Their location is near the campus of the University of Washington and has bus stops nearby that have service every fifteen minutes. Locals can take advantage of 2 for 1 rental pricing on Wednesdays with extended nighttime hours that day.
A Wednesday night at Scarecrow Video is a reliable time to witness a college-age demographic excited about viewing video on physical media.
