Sealed versus Ported Bass, can the difference be measured?

So like a pipe organ? Sounds like "one note bass" could be an issue with a chimney IB.

Shouldn't be one note bass if the column is filled with damping material. Seems like a firebox/chimney could make one VERY sweet TL setup that should reach very low depending on the length of the chimney. For my system I went with IB and have been and continue to be amazed by it's performance. There are no subwoofer enclosures taking up space in the listening space.
