The design is rather unique with use of switching power supply but class AB amplification using four LM3886 amplifier ICs per channel. The amplifier necessitates good sized heatsinks which anchor each side of the amplifier, giving it fair amount of heft although still lighter than one with linear power supply. In use, the top gets very warm and company nicely notes this as a "CON" of the amp!

The amp is designed and built in Russia and got lost in transit once so took a while to get here.
On the lighter side, I was hoping that -being that this is a Russian designed/built hardware- there would be a few tubes stashed inside.
A tube-amp this good, would've even made me salivate!
Nostalgia factor would have been thru the roof!
But noooooooooo, @JSmith had to ruin it for me, at post#15.

It looks like a good enough product, but I would not purchase one at that price. I’d be willing to pay around a kilobuck for it. It just feels like it should be $999 with tax, tariffs, and shipping. I know most people wouldn’t even pay that much due to the output power.

Let us make a distinction between the Russian peoples and Russian politics.
Do you seriously think that buying even 10,000 of these power amps mounts to a hill-a-beans for Russian politicians?
We are not here to deliberate politics; so, just let it be!

I don't understand why you ask me questions when you know I won't answer them. And no, I won't answer if you reply to this post.
This also applies to others who would respond to this post. The lid and case is closed.

Completely forgot to mention the Soncoz SGP1. This amp is using same kind of design (AB) with a SMPS Psu ... @ 1300€ it is surely a best deal

I think the design is confused. A power amp doesn’t need a volume knob. An integrated amp needs several inputs. Heat sinks need external venting to work well. And an expensive amp needs to look worth the money.

Pros: measures well.

Cons: everything else.
I actually like that it has a volume knob. For those who insist on using a DAC with built in volume control, an analog volume control before the amp section can definitely save one’s speakers.

yes, but for the $4000 premium you are paying for this over what it's worth, you can afford to have two pairs of back up speakers in case they blow.

The PCB layout should have been optimized for direct connections to the daughter boards instead of the haphazard multiple cabling. The heatsink size can accomodate twice the power this amp delivers, not a problem.
Based on the visuals and performance this looks like a $3K amplifier. Made in china, half the price and a tenth the useable lifetime.

Geopolitics waaaay aside, I just think the "one box that does one thing very well" philosophy is very close to total obsolescence.

In the end, it is the adaptability of your preferred (and hopefully great measuring) speakers to your room that will determine the quality of what you hear. And -in my opinion- it requires versatile, feature rich equipment at the front end to drive them to their best. And I don't want a stack of 5 different devices to accomplish that.

I did vote "fine" because it clearly is well engineered, but I'd never go back to a full 5-level audio rack the way we used to be.

Great performance but super expensive. Plus, given the Russian origin of the amp and the fact that the country is under international sanctions right now, there could be problems transporting the amp to/from the manufacturer and through customs should it need to be returned for service.
My thoughts exactly.

I agree. Before I switched over my hobby activity sometime near the year 2000 to operating a desktop PC with headphones and speakers I maintained a large heat producing tall altar of rack mount sized audio gear with 2 huge tri-amp'd active crossover speakers in the living room. The room space was dominated by the light oak furniture holding all the electronics and the 2 tall and large oak speakers. With wires running all over blocking access for the vacuum to suck up the dust bunnies that collected there. I was addicted to the splendid, powerful and dynamic sound that was effortless in reproduction and enjoyment but it was always on my mind that it consumed the entire living room and my wife of the day hated the stuff even if she admitted that it was the best sound of her life. I moved house in the timeframe and frankly the stuff weighed a ton and I really wished I had lighter stuff when I had to carry it all in out out while moving. So when I switched over to a desktop PC and gaming first person shooter stuff I lost interest in having really powerful and large audio gear. I went with headphones and tried several and then started using earbuds because they don't mess my hair up and cause my ears to get warm and itchy. Then I decided to get open back headphones with better venting and that was good but buying the new Technics Bluetooth earbuds that can be connected to 3 sources has been a major gamechanger. I turn off the desktop PC and engage the big screen TV and the earbuds auto switch over to the TV without and input from me and the same if I use my MP4 player is a absolute improvement. They really do sound great and are such a convenience that I rarely use the Sennheiser open back earphones now.

Amir, when will you begin measuring Ukrainian gear ?
The "when" has already happened. Here are the two recent ones:

A third is coming soon and is actually an amplifier as well!

Left/right heatsinks appear to be housed inside the overall enclosure... even with top/bottom venting, it makes you me wonder about heat management.
You mean "How it is usually done" because 1) It allows for higher heatsink temperature without being a health hazard for humans and 2) It mechanically decouples the IC from the chassis so when you drop the case you're destroying the case instead of the IC.

Before Reading this review, i was Reading a review of Denon pma-3000 ....

Well, what ça money buy?

Would you go for this one at 4900, or Denon pma-3000 for less ?

If there's a bare LM3886 (no additional THD correction) then the whole marketing approach looks disrespectful to me. Putting a $5k tag on the amp with $3 chips in it... Better get Neurochrome
I don't think you can get -120 dB harmonics with a bare 3886, even if you were to parallel several of them

People hi :)

Don't mess around: for 1900 euros less you can get a pair of Neumann KH 150: my choice would be quick, let's be a little objective all the same ;)
