Really? An SMPS and Class AB amp is rare?

For $5K this is nowhere near my value-for-dollar threshold, and because of the invasion I wouldn't buy anything from Russia right now at any price, but you can't argue with the results.

If so, then we could not buy anything from the US for the last 50 years! Lets focus on specs and engineering ;-)

Looking at my B200 set from an EU distributor and cannot find a single selling point for this Russian amp.

After one of their latest ....ummmm... territorialy-aggressive behaviors, Russian-made automatic watch prices had crashed.
I own one! It has 'historical' value.

Technically, performance looks great.
Price is up there and power too low for my taste and need, so this won't work for me.
Still, it's good to see it tested here.

I think this is the first class AB with switching power supply that I have seen.
They did not choose more common design of keeping heatsink on the sides exposed outside for better cooling, probably to just make it look cleaner for expense of more heat building up inside causing top to get the heat.
the top plate seems to have vents from the pic, I might be wrong though.

SONCOZ SGP1 tested here, also a class AB with switching power supply, can do almost double the power at less than a quarter of the price with slightly better metrics too. The value of this unit is jut meh.

Ridiculous low power for the cost, regardless of the cleanliness of the output. I would much rather have more power than this.

where do we draw the line? some may also choose to boycott Israel. but then should people also boycott the US, as the US government helps fund the atrocities occurring in Gaza?

I think people should draw the line when they feel buying something might support something that is unsupportable in their eyes. That might easily extend to what you mention here, but of course it's easy to not buy an overpriced amp, harder to make these choices in many other areas of life, I'm not calling anyone out here.

I know ASR doesn’t withhold recommendations based on value except in egregious cases but this is nigh approaching egregious. Good stats but not groundbreaking (B200 is ten times cleaner). And an amp’s most important job is providing power, and 64 watts is seriously unimpressive for this class.

I voted “Fine” because the value proposition just wasn’t there, even though this is great performance for Class AB.

Poor value - good stuff.
Yes there are no taxes, but war-related sanctions probably affect the price. Pretty impressed everytime I see entrepreneurship from Russia, knowing the very special industrial ''ecosystem'' in place over there, gotta be pretty motivated and found of what you do to create a company like that. After navigating their website, couldn't resist the pleasure to share the picture of such a strong character.

It goes without saying that there’s no remote control?

It’s strange to me that there’s both RCA and XLR plugs but no switch in front and only a very tiny, hard-to-change switch in back. Like you’re expected to commit to only one input. That combined with likely lack of remote makes this more like a power amp to me rather than a proper integrated. That said, I think power amps should have a volume control to set the limit, thus making the use of devices using digital remote control a little less scary.

But is 64 watts into 8 ohms great performance? I mean, I get it. More power is only valuable if your use case calls for it. But still I think it’s funny that we factor in all this largely academic, mostly inaudible stuff, and ignore the one thing that has a significant chance of hampering a person’s experience with the product.

It's obviously well engineered. But, "politics" aside (dunno when opposing wars of aggression became political but whatever), there doesn't appear to be any reason whatsoever to consider this over the Benchmark AHB2.
