You can't turn it off unless you remove the cable. Or get a cable with a switch inline. But there's really no reason to turn it off.

I read in the back ASSY IN USA that should be meaning ASSEMBLY. I don't know how are the legal terms for MADE and ASSEMBLY in USA, but that could mean that assembled PCBs come from abroad and only the final assembly is made in USA; but perhaps I'm wrong.
However, the USA price is very interesting as are the performances.
“Made in the USA” requires not only “building” the product in the USA, but also a majority of parts content needs to be from the USA.

Here’s what Schiit has to say:

“Designed and Built in the USA
By “designed and built in the USA" this is what we mean: the vast majority of the total production cost of Modi—chassis, boards, assembly, etc—goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. Our chassis are made in California. Our PCBs are made in California or Nevada, and it all comes together in our Corpus Christi facility.”

Schiit recently and suddenly switched from a “Made in USA” to “ASSY in USA.” This tells me that something big in the unit is now from a foreign source. My guess is that the steel or aluminum utilized in the case is now from a foreign country rather than a U.S. mill, which have been shutting down like crazy in recent years. The chassis could still come from a California supplier, but the raw metal could be foreign.

Just a guess but a likely one, in my opinion.
