I can't really tell you what you will or won't hear after buying that Topping DAC.
I can say that I use the Topping E30 II and I like using it. I can also say that this Topping DAC doesn't sound any different to me than, for example, the SMSL SU-1 DAC, and the SMSL is less expensive.
If you do need a volume control and the other features that the Topping DAC offers over the SMSL one, or if you just like the way the Topping DAC looks (like I do), then get the more expensive DAC.
