Which one is that?So I scoped through the thread and I can't seem to find out what the verdict is on the new DAC chip in this bad boy.
"Choose the ES9028 module with Unison USB™ for a world-class delta-sigma DAC for $100 more."Which one is that?
ES9028 APx Report (as installed in Jotunheim 2, Asgard 3, output from amplifier) gives some info."Choose the ES9028 module with Unison USB™ for a world-class delta-sigma DAC for $100 more."
Okay assuming I'm kind of a dumbo with all this, are these numbers indications that it's a good upgrade? Since it looked like previously the DAC was really not worth having even though the amplifier was good.ES9028 APx Report (as installed in Jotunheim 2, Asgard 3, output from amplifier) gives some info.

Returned it for the scratchy noise, I thought they were gonna repair it easily (and they might) but got refunded instead (£330 + 100, dac card was paid separately).
Not at all. Downgrade.Would you consider it a big step as upgrade from an Atom?
In terms of aesthetics, absolutely.... in terms of sound, yes.Would you consider it a big step as upgrade from an Atom?
Sound? Yes 90 SINAD trash definitely sounds better than textbook perfect Atom.In terms of aesthetics, absolutely.... in terms of sound, yes.
Thank you. I guess sometimes sinad isn't everything to everyoneSound? Yes 90 SINAD trash definitely sounds better than textbook perfect Atom.
I’ve owned both. I’d keep the Atom. If you’re wanting a fancier box on your desk, I’d go for the Element.Would you consider it a big step as upgrade from an Atom?
