Will be ported box its 52L and with passive crossoverWow! The measurements look perfect, and so do your building skills! I'm looking forward to seeing how the Purifi driver works with this amazing waveguide/horn. Will it be a closed box design? Passive or active?
Yea i tried it. Surround causes some diffraction at 3-7khz range but its not end of the world.very nice to see your project and your measurements - you could try to turn your woofer 1/6th to get a different interaction with your tweeter - the surround will be more inside than outside and it is less symmetrical
F3 is about 27-28hz. This is constant directivity with 90x60 degree coverage so works better with 2m+ listening distance. This speaker is also easy to eq to if you want less highs you can easily do it but i aim for flat on axis design then you can eq if you like. This actually sounds more balanced vs my other similar kind of speaker but with wider radiation 120degree and more downward tilt. The ”Target” curves very much depend on the listening distances and room and speakers coverage area.very nice result - is it necessary to loose 4db between 75 and 25hz? - i understand you try to filter the speaker to a flat horeizontal curve - but when listening to music I like a downward-tilted slope
Its extremely low even at my 1.1khz crossover which im testing now. Pureshape gives 10-11db loading at the low end. Just have to be careful with tweeter when crossed that low it could get warm if you push it hard.Looks like a nice speaker. I looked at the waveguide myself but was a bit hesitant since they only published H3 distorsion. How does it look in your measurements?
Numbers would be really nice since the supplier is only publishing 3rd order distorsion. Its extremely low even at my 1.1khz crossover which im testing now. Here is couple of pics from finished speaker. I still dont have the other woofer
Id buy that. Amazing job. What’s the vertical directivity like with such a low crossover? Here is couple of pics from finished speaker. I still dont have the other woofer
Vituixcad is pretty easy to learn. Just need some kind of measurement gear. Diy is greatThat is a mighty fine looking speaker sir.
I really do wish I knew how to even start making a x-over.
