Hello! I started to design and build my second floorstander diy speaker they will feature sb26adc in pureshape horn/waveguide and purifi ptt8 bass drivers they will have the same look as my previous 2way floorstanders but with bigger roundovers. Here are some images for the pureshape and some early measurements from the horn also a sketched image what they should look like when they are ready but prob not completely accurate. I will update this page as i go along.

That looks interesting,
Very nice polars for the horn!
Are these measurements in box, in infinite baffle or with the horn free standing?

This kind of tape roundover :D so final baffle should be better.

This horn is with 90x70degree coverage so little narrower than my previous somasonus waveguide and should work better in my room/listening distance. We will see

Wow so smooth! And clean look, like the two previous builds.
Have you already decided the final ctc, I mean how much you’ll let the woofer bite into the wg?

Not yet im just cutting the pieces now for the box. And purifi drivers are out of stock for now so may take a while before i get them

Those measurements certainly are smooth! I look forward to this build. Will you be porting the enclosure? What kind of alignment are you looking for?

Nice renderings and agree the measurements on the tweeter look fantastic. Would be keen to see the distortion graph, I wonder how much the WG does for that way down at 1khz? As I recall the 8" plays well almost up to 2khz so I figure the crossover should be pretty peachy with this pairing.

There is distortion measurements at audiohorn website.

Rather good even down to 1khz! I'm optimistic about this build... I looked over their site and it's pretty interesting. Comparing the directivity of the Purifi and the WG I guess it looks like xover near 1400-1500hz should be on the money...

Now just add another two 8"s on the sides and go full cardioid ;)... only another $2K or something right? :D

I would love to buy more purifi drivers but the two i ordered already cost as much as my genelec speakers :D They are super expensive but super good also. I had 2 options to use peerless hds 8” which i did in the previous speaker build peerless is really good for the price and other option was super expensive purifi :D There is also 24cm version of this horn wich should work great with SB Acoustics 9.5” drivers the wo24p and wo24tx ones.

these look really smart love to make something like these !
You can build these easy with other 8” drivers as well like Peerless HDS for much less money. But i wanted purifi bcouse of the strong bass they provide and low distortion. And i also have peerless hds build already so wanted to do something different.

Glad to see the very similar project!
I already have the Purifi8" drivers and the SB tweeters, and I'm waiting for the pureshape wg-s to arrive. This is a very serious dynamic speaker project, as its FR and distortion are better than most of electrostatic speakers especially direction characteristic, bass response (-3dB 30Hz) and the max loudness (107dB50Hz)! The 30mm thick box will be made of acacia, but it will not be a floor standing box, but a 50 liter large monitor box with bass reflex slot on the bottom. It will be a Christmas surprise I think. I want to use external passive crossover with variable BSC for my dedicated acoustically treated listening room & workshop. I'll report back when the speaker is ready with some measurements.

Nice! The pureshape waveguide measured perfectly flat on my tweeters and should perform really well. I already painted them with filler spray.

It turned out great, if mine turns out like this I will be completely satisfied. What brand of spray did you use?

Made some progress on the boxes. Looks like purifi drivers are out of stock till february so that sucks a little :(
