If it's an 1ET9040BA inside, one of the half-bridges will be short circuited to ground, that will be detected, the amp will shut down and retry until the short is removed.Thanks...but how will your 2nd gen Purifi amps behave when their -ve output terminals are grounded? That was the original intent of my question.
If it's an 1ET6525SA working in phase, nothing will happen except potential sound degradation because a ground loop was created.
If it's an 1ET6525SA working in opposition of phase, the half-bridge will be short circuited to ground, that will be detected, the amp will shut down and retry until the short is removed.
The only case of connection to ground that I can imagine as not being a failure mode is the connection to the high level input from a sub. Sub manufacturers explain how to connect full bridge amplifiers to their products in their manual.
