I have some Sansui SP-30s I got cheap off of facebook marketplace. Obviously the grill design is not great for frequency response but my wife likes the way they look. They sound OK but have almost no bass response and really drop off at higher frequencies where the tweeters take over. I found this post and am thinking about copying his build
Any input on improving upon this? If I copy his crossover it will be my first time building them from scratch, so if I could get 90% of the results with something off the shelf that would be nice.

He used a parallel notch to knock down woofer breakup. Distortion-wise, an equivalent series notch would be preferred instead.

If these cannot be used directly on the wall, making them BR again would be worth considering... with a much larger cross-section port, mind you. (3D print an oval one?)

There is no such thing as off-the-shelf crossovers.

Placing all of these coils so that they don't interfere with each other is going to be fun... mind you, there's a ton of space in there, so the circuit could be spread out quite a bit, and there's 3 orthogonal orientations in space. Best grab a piece of thin scrap wood and wire things point to point on there.

You wouldn't have an issue replacing the bracing and routing though, right?

You can buy complete crossovers crossover components, high-pass & low-pass sub-assemblies, bare boards to solder the components of your choice, etc.

The crossover probably isn't the main problem. Possibly the cabinet is the only thing worth saving. :(
