Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 Pro were quite fun.

How idiotic is it then that many brands insist on wasting the limited bitrate of Bluetooth audio by transmitting ultrasonic noise, resulting in worse quality where we can actually hear things
Absolutely, I was astonished to learn that 570 kbps or 990 kbps were reserved only for 24/96 or 24/48 kHz, instead of profiting for diminishing on compression ratio

I was considering them, among the sony WF XM 5, I’m finally moving from iphone to Samsung so they would be a good option
I have owned and used the Buds2Pro since last April. They are pretty nice. They sometimes have a intermittent handshaking issue with the cel tel and I must reboot and re-connect to the Bluetooth signal. I hope the Buds3Pro have resolved this issue. It happens rarely but it happens.

More or less inevitable with TWS, unfortunately.

Happens with my XM5, and every other of the (oh god I have way too many) wireless earbuds I use.

Info I've seen so far shows that the sonys have better noise cancelation, which I find pretty important.

Frequency curves look pretty similar between the two, as well. Both just a teensy bit bass heavy, if I'm remembering right.

For a TWS they don't sound bad (no ANC, EQ mode dynamic), the advantage is the small size and suitability for everyday use, but when it comes to sound and music enjoyment, my MP145 are the king

Made an account just to comment on this, I expect more from ASR then shilling. I received the buds 3 pro last week, here's some major issues that this unpaid samsung marketer conveniently left out.

-Buds 3 pro shipping has been halted since last week for BAD quality control, the eartips ripping off and being unable to use anymore. Funny you left that out and instead told people to buy this defective product after that was announced.

-24 bit/96khz does not work as advertised, this was obvious and displayed in the bluetooth settings which you would see. 24/48 khz is the max right now.

-The clip case gets stuck on the regular case and is extremely hard to take off, it also has adhesive. This case blocks the pairing button entirely, it took me and 2 other people working together for 15 minutes to remove it.

-There is crazy driver flex, upon insertion it makes a screeching feedback noise

-If you have the buds within 6-12 inches of each other it makes loud feedback noise unless they are inserted

-No one with ears could call this a balanced tone, the mids and treble are extremely recessed and muddy. L shaped signature. It is literally on the chart you posted yourself.

-Also does not work with Galaxy Watch6, not sure if this is because the watch isn't the latest model

-The listening translation feature is completely missing, this is the only reason I bought these at all. In the conversational translate feature, it only offers a handful of languages, none of which I need. This conversational translate is around 2-3 seconds slower than google translate which has been out forever, doesn't use the same 'AI', and has around 500% more languages

Don't trust this review, it's not honest at all. The buds are recalled, Samsung has officially APOLOGIZED for the poor quality, do not buy this product until they fix it, returns are available for those who pre-ordered. I am beyond sick of the reviewers saying this product is flawless when the manufacturer has recalled it.

Thanks can you link us to your info? I'm glad I have the Buds2Pro because they are good.

The buds 2 pro sound better FYI, the only thing I'm impressed with is the transparency mode and EQ on the buds 3 pro. Used buds 3 pro are going for 50% off online

That's right. Samsung has stopped selling it at the moment.(with recall or return)
Q/C looks so sad.

This is not a serious review, and I wrote in the title that Bud3 pro is interesting. I don't know why you prematurely judge my experience as dishonest based on your experience.

It's up to the individual to judge.
AirPods Pro including Buds3pro and most TWS,IEM have a tonal balance with no major problems.
And if it doesn't suit you, EQ can also be applied.
I understand your bad experience and feel sorry for it, but I think I take the things I write too seriously.

Also, I visited the samsung store myself and heard this.
I didn't experience this after deciding to recall, I heard it on the first day of release.

here's some major issues that this unpaid samsung marketer conveniently left out.
Omg, Are you serious think about that?

I just want some head tracking for my Samsung phone. I love experimenting with DSPs. But these "buds" look very bad; too many issues, apparently.

Is there a sensible alternative to experiment with head tracking?

If you're an Android user, you can buy it.
I try to watch without prejudice when listening to and evaluating IEM and headphones.
And without bias against TWS, buds3 would be a pretty good option.
Does that mean they've made everything work on all Android phones this time? A frequent reason not to buy on Buds 2 Pro reviews was that many capabilities were reserved for Samsung phones and didn't work on other Androids.

No. My sentence was not that kind of story. I mean listening to music.
If you are an Apple user, you can choose AirPods Pro, and if you are an Android (Galaxy) user, you can choose Buds 3 Pro.
I don't know any other Android except Galaxy.

If you're an Apple user, you can try the AirPods series.
However, there is a limit to getting very clean head tracking with a small DSP.
If you want a good full head tracking, you'd better do it on your computer.

I have a Samsung Galaxy. I know that most, except the really expensive one, head tracking solutions are not that refined, but I still wanted to try them.

Is there a Samsung store around the house?
If you have one, I think you should test it yourself. I didn't feel much lacking compared to Apple's head tracking.
If I were to choose something else, there would be something like LG's Tone Free, but I don't know because I haven't used it, but I remember users in other communities describing it as like simple panning.

That's a pretty strong accusation to just come out with, unless you've got any kind of proof?

They seem to measure fairly well according to the measurements I've seen online, so I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to think they sound good. People that like things sometimes want to share.

Q/C looks so sad.
Looks like the issue was with dye on the white ones specifically. As well as some issues with the silicone tips.
They're fixing the problem, so that's probably fine.

Pretty good proof he's not a Samsung shill, then. A shill wouldn't be pushing people to order earbuds you can't actually buy right now.

Anyways, Samsung seems to be trying to really fix the problems. We ought to be happy they admitted a mistake and are going to properly fix the issue.
That is, assuming they do fix it. If they don't, then I'm all for the pitchforks.

I'm not certain, but I believe they advertised these as having some sort of integration with the AI translation software which is only available on newer Samsung phones.

As @Headphoner mentioned above, 24-bit/96khz won't be available to everyone. Their advertising says it need the SSC codec, which is only available on newer Samsung phones.

Not a big fan of vendor lock-in. This is probably worth some time complaining about.

well, unfortunately most users seem to be too stupid to change the ear tips ! it's actually quite easy
but if you pull and tug on them like an idiot, they will break!

what you hear is not a driver flex - feedback noises from the microphone, you also get that with hearing aids when you put them in your ear
I think that can be fixed with a firmware update

otherwise there is a lot of hate in your post, I also have Buds3 Pro and can't confirm your "problems"
it's true, in the standard EQ profile the Buds3 Pro are a bit boring, the dynamic profile sounds good
it is important to choose the right ear tips (i use large), the Buds 3 are not deep in the ear canal and sealing is more complicated than with other IEMs

While I've always liked the adage that "they can always build a better idiot", that doesn't seem to be the real issue here.

People online have reported that they tear even when following Samsungs new instructions. Samsung has delayed shipment so i presume even they see a flaw here, maybe they used the wrong type of silicone and it tears too easilly.

In any case, I doubt there's any great justification for why their tips would need special treatment to change without damage.
A certain level of durability is shown by just about every other eartip ever made. The issue is that Samsung hasn't met the bar for acceptable quality in eartips, so we should be blaming them instead of consumers.

While I've always liked the adage that "they can always build a better idiot", that doesn't seem to be the real issue here.
Well, I noticed that the ear tips usually stay in place and don't come off easily, so I stopped pulling on them and looked at pictures of the Buds3 Pro without the buds, and I noticed that there is a lip where they snap into place, with a little sensitivity anyone should be able to do that - but nowadays anyone can do anything without using their brain - that usually ends in total failure! yes the Buds3 didn't pass the idiot test

As @Headphoner mentioned above, 24-bit/96khz won't be available to everyone. Their advertising says it need the SSC codec, which is only available on newer Samsung phones.
So you assume I'm not using a Samsung phone from the last 4 generations, for no reason. Not even newer, SSC is on the S20. It's the same codec they use on the buds 2 pro you should know that.

So no. It's not that it's not available to everyone, it's that it's not working for anyone. If you bothered to do a google search you'd see I'm not the only one. More false information from people who couldn't be bothered to look it up themselves. The eartips are ripping in half or snapping the connector piece, rendering it useless, there are no replacement tips in stock.

Stopping shipments is good, but what about returns for the thousands of people with a broken product. Did you stop to think about that?

As for the biggest idiot in this thread blaming the victims, you don't defend a company that openly admitted they made a mistake and states they have QC issues. Someone's not an idiot because the cheap oval eartip made of fragile plastic breaks within 3 changes, somehow every other company manages to not have this issue. Your logic is hateful, and you're projecting.

yes, bla bla, stop crying and throw your Buds3 in the trash - my God - what a drama, mine work well, I can change the tips without any problem and I'm happy - are they worth €249? I don't think so, they're just mainstream TWS.
I hope you listened to music with them without ANC - with ANC they sound terrible
