I have a Galaxy Tab S8+ which is a very nice tablet. It runs Android 14. I know Android 14 up- or down-samples everything to 48khz. I know there is software that I can use to enable bit perfect USB out. But I have Tidal installed and I do not know if that can be run on top of other software -- I don't think so.

I thought Android 14 was going to allow bit perfect digital output, but I see nothing in my updated OS to enable that.

It sounds pretty good at its 48khz output, but I have a nice iFi Micro iDSD Black Label headphone amp that can take anything you throw at it.

Thoughts or options?

You can stream Tidal through USB Audio Player Pro which enables bit-exact USB output without Android resampling.

Alternatively, you could side load Tidal V2.91.1 as APK, as this version was the last to natively support bit-exact output.

Great, thanks. I will try that. I was not certain about UAPP as I read conflicting opinions, which had confused me. That will also allow me to run any music I have saved on the Galaxy for when I don't have a network connection.

Always appreciate your digital knowledge.
