"With an aperture of f/1.5, Samsung claims that the W2018’s 12-megapixel rear camera can capture sharp images in less light than the cameras on rival phones can. It also has a 5-megapixel front camera. Through software, the camera can sense when there’s enough light to switch to f/2.4 and capture more of the background in photos."

The price? Guess, or google it, because the W2017’s price tag is $3,000 - the model below! This one is the W2018 from Samsung's W line.

This is not news this is progress, this is advanced portable telephone computer CAMERA, ...this is SPARTA! It costs more than any DSLR cameras below three grand!

Should it be in the news section, news we can use, or should it be in the android phones section, or should it be in the technology change section of the forum, or should it be in the camera/photography section?
I went for the last one as the main emphasis, because flip phones are not only prehistoric but they are coming back, just like the LPs @ the stores ⊙

"The W2018 has a 4.2-inch full HD AMOLED front display, and a 4.2-inch full HD inner display. As retro touches that make me nostalgic as I type them, it has a directional pad and a number keypad. There’s a fingerprint scanner beside the rear camera, like other Samsung models, and a Bixby button for voice assistance. It comes in gold and platinum in a metal-and-glass body protected by Gorilla Glass."

Yes, a 4.2" display, you have read correctly. This is NOT a 6.2" display like the Samsung Galaxy S8+ • http://www.samsung.com/us/explore/galaxy-s8/

It's funny, all the phones today use 12-megapixel cameras. As if they had a meeting all the phone companies and agreed on this, for the time being. And when they all decide together they'll be all using 16 or 20-megapixel cameras. That way they ensure a secure future with fixed numbers of megapixel cameras.

Do you remember your first digital camera, was it a 0.5 megapixel or a 1.1 megapixel camera? How much, $800 or so?

Apple phones cost more that a thousand bucks now. Samsung is over $3,000 with their flippers! I thought prices were supposed to follow bitcoins, like surging 1,000% in a year. ;-)
