SACD Players in 2025?

Best Buy showing shipping stock available.
There's also so many used BluRay players on ebay etc for peanuts. I bought an old Sony S5100 off ebay for $50 with remote for ripping SACD's, still works perfectly.

I thought about getting another M2 to have a backup with Dolby Vision, but I checked the Best Buy website and the ones they have listed are sold and shipped by Mallstop. Ever heard of them?

Why use both then? My main bedroom has an S5100 of its own (Oppo 203 in living room) and have a 5100 in my workshop system and a 6700 in a spare bedroom....my other bedroom has just a two ch system with no video.....
The 5100 is used strictly for ripping SACDs and needs to be connected to main system but it doesn't play 4k etc, that's the Sony 800M2s job. So yea I need them both connected. I actually have 3 connected, a Samsung K8500 is in standby "just in case". ;)

I hope my X2 lives a long life, since the original version doesn't have Dolby Vision.
Considering the heavy build quality I'm hoping it should but who knows.
Laser diode and tracking carriage are most often first to give headaches?

I haven't tried the 5100 ripping routine altho did download some of the software, just haven't moved the gear to a place where it's reasonable to start comfortably the transfer of so many discs

Why would you use both in the same room?
I tend to use multiple players in the same room. I have a Panasonic UB820 that is only used for movies and the older Sony player next to it just for music. Thankfully the remote problem is a non issue since they are different brands.

Extremely happy with my Oppo BDT 101CI bought 10 years ago. I use it to play Bluray, CD and SACD and cross my finger it will last far more years.
As a curiosity I recently browsed the web to check what is today's SACD players offering in Europe and was amazed by the very high priced products I found.
With the exception of the Sony Bluray player UBP-X700K but which sadly don't have any analog audio output (RCA connexion) , all other brands has gone crazy and I can't really figure out which model would replace my Oppo when it will die.
SACD has definitively became a niche audio format ,but who knows, such as the unexpected return of the vinyle some years ago, SACD might have its come back.
